Inosine triphosphate pyrophosphatase activity as a potential predictor of methotrexate remission in juvenile idiopathic arthritis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Background Methotrexate (MTX) is the first‐line therapy for juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), but up to 40% of patients don't respond. Low inosine‐triphosphate‐pyrophosphatase (ITPA) activity has been associated with reduced clinical remission. We investigated ITPA role and the underlying mechanisms in vitro.

Exploring Untargeted metabolomics for halal authentication of Triceps brachii, Longissimus Dorsi, and Biceps femoris of meat muscles

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Properties, 2023
The demand for authentic meat has increased due to the growing consumption of halal meat. In this study, a combined metabolomics and chemometrics approach was employed to authenticate beef and pork samples from specific muscle groups.

The role of IMP dehydrogenase 2 in Inauhzin-induced ribosomal stress [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The ‘ribosomal stress (RS)-p53 pathway’ is triggered by any stressor or genetic alteration that disrupts ribosomal biogenesis, and mediated by several ribosomal proteins (RPs), such as RPL11 and RPL5, which inhibit MDM2 and activate p53.

Targeting Microbiome Metabolites: Reshaping Immunotherapy and Clinical Management Strategies for Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesiMetaMed, EarlyView.
The occurrence and progression of colorectal cancer are intricately linked to metabolites produced by the gut microbiota. Metabolites generated by pathogenic microbial communities can promote colorectal cancer development by reshaping the immune microenvironment.

Effect of Sea Buckthorn Leaves on Inosine Monophosphate and Adenylosuccinatelyase Gene Expression in Broilers during Heat Stress [PDF]

open access: yesAsian-Australasian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2012
The trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of sea buckthorn leaves (SBL) on meat flavor in broilers during heat stress. A total 360 one-day-old Arbor Acre (AA) broilers (male) were randomly allotted to 4 treatments with 6 replicates pens ...

Adss1–HDAC3 Interaction: A Novel Mechanism for Epigenetic Regulation of Metabolism in Adipose Tissue

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Obesity and its related metabolic disorders have emerged as global public health challenges with underlying mechanisms involving an imbalance between energy storage and expenditure in the adipose tissue. In recent years, with the deepening research on adipose tissue metabolism, the cross talk between metabolic enzymes and epigenetic regulation

Gut microbiome‐derived metabolites show promise in cancer research and therapy

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
The metabolites produced by the gut microbiome, which are subject to regulation by multiple factors, play a pivotal role in the progression of various types of cancer. These metabolites not only function as potential biomarkers for the early detection and monitoring of tumor development, but also actively participate in cancer therapeutic processes ...

Mycophenolic acid counteracts B cell proliferation and plasmablast formation in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
INTRODUCTION: Clinical trials revealed a high efficacy of mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) in inducing and maintaining remission in patients with class III-V-lupus nephritis. Also extrarenal manifestations respond to MMF treatment.
