Effectiveness of Organized Strategies to Enhance Access to Preventive Oral Cancer Screening Among High‐Risk Individuals in Brazil: A Randomized Clinical Trial in Primary Care

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 7, Page 1750-1758, 1 October 2026.
This randomized clinical trial evaluated the performance of organized risk‐based strategies to expand access to cancer preventive oral examination among vulnerable populations within the public health system of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Compared with an opportunistic approach, the organized invitation‐based oral cancer screening approaches systematically

Acute Foot Warming Enhances Plantar Tactile Sensitivity With Limited Postural Control Effects in Obese Older Adults

open access: yesPhysiotherapy Research International, Volume 31, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Purpose Interventions to enhance tactile sensitivity, such as warming the feet, positively affect skin sensitivity with varying influence on postural control. Here, we hypothesize that foot warming may benefit tactile sensitivity and postural control in older adults, particularly those with obesity.

Fragmentation by Dams and Habitat Quality Affect Body Condition of a Small Characid in a Neotropical System

open access: yesEcology of Freshwater Fish, Volume 35, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The structure of stream networks naturally fragments freshwater habitats, but this complexity is increasingly intensified by dams and reservoirs. How anthropogenic fragmentation interacts with natural isolation gradients to affect fish populations remains poorly understood.

Unveiling Float Glass Staining Induced by an Acid‐Cleaning Product

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Glass Science, Volume 17, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Staining of glass facades is a recurring and significant problem worldwide. This study investigates the causes of staining observed on six laminated float glass samples from four manufacturers (α, β, γ, and δ). Samples from β, γ, and δ were new, whereas those from α (α1, α2, and α3) were taken from a building after service exposure.

An Intelligent Wound Dressing Platform Based on Natural pH‐Sensors From Syzygium cumini

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 35, September 15, 2026.
This study presents a dual‐functionality wound dressing platform based on an alginate–hyaluronate matrix integrated with Syzygium cumini extract. The smart film acts as a sensitive, reversible pH‐sensor for real‐time infection monitoring and a structural plasticizer that enhances mechanical conformability.
