Input Observability and Input Reconstruction

Automatica, 1998
The problem of input observability and reconstruction for linear time-invariant systems is considered. Corresponding necessary and sufficient conditions which are explicit and testable are given. The approach developed for the design of schemes for input reconstruction is based on a matrix pencil decomposition form which is obtainable using numerically

Input Algebras

2021 IEEE/ACM 43rd International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE), 2021
Grammar-based test generators are highly efficient in producing syntactically valid test inputs, and give their user precise control over which test inputs should be generated. Adapting a grammar or a test generator towards a particular testing goal can be tedious, though.

Input price-input quantity relations and the numeraire

Cambridge Journal of Economics, 2009
The fact that a competitive agent faces 'given' input prices does not necessarily mean that these prices can be completely arbitrary, especially in the long run. An obvious case, but not the only one, is when there are input--output relations among industries.

A need for input

Nature Reviews Neuroscience, 2020
In mice, temporally patterned inputs to the motor cortex that controls the forelimb are required for a well-trained reaching behaviour.

Input/Output Logics

Journal of Philosophical Logic, 2000
The authors propose that we think of logic not merely as an inference engine, but as a way of preparing information for a more general method of input/output transformation. Four such `logics' are described, from the `simple-minded', in which all the (classically) logical consequences of a (propositional) input \(A\) are become input and the output is ...

Input‐to‐state stability with respect to inputs and their derivatives

International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2003
AbstractA new notion of input‐to‐state stability involving infinity norms of input derivatives up to a finite order k is introduced and characterized. An example shows that this notion of stability is indeed weaker than the usual ISS. Applications to the study of global asymptotic stability of cascaded non‐linear systems are discussed. Comparing input error for mouse and touch input

2011 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 2011
Precise selection is one of the key difficulties of touch-based interaction. In some cases (such as interacting with a map-based interface), precise selection is crucial for the correct specification of information. This work investigates the difference in user input error and speed for line drawing tasks using touch and mouse-based interaction.

Cooperative multi-input shaping for arbitrary inputs

Proceedings of the 2001 American Control Conference. (Cat. No.01CH37148), 2001
Input shaping is an effective tool to reduce residual vibration when maneuvering flexible structures. For multiple inputs, a common scheme is to design a shaper with zeros at every vibrational mode (a "single-input shaper") and use it for all inputs.

Input and Output

1974
The problem of communication between man and computer was already mentioned in chapter 9. Both learn to understand through what is termed pattern recognition. Unfortunately, the patterns recognized most easily by man (dominantly those of picture and sound) are very different from those acceptable to a computer (electrical impulses).
