On statistical multiplexers with randomly changing input characteristics
Computers & Operations Research, 1986Abstract The paper considers a statistical multiplexer whose arrival stream of messages is subject to changes in time. A stochastic model to describe such an arrival process is proposed and the buffer behavior of the multiplexer is derived. A few applications illustrate the results.
