Bulk‐Like Spin Cycloid and Fast Switching in Freestanding BiFeO3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Freestanding BiFeO3 membranes overcome substrate‐induced constraints by simultaneously restoring the intrinsic bulk‐like spin cycloid and enabling ≈50% faster ferroelectric switching than substrate‐clamped epitaxial thin films. This combination of robust noncollinear antiferromagnetic order and efficient electric‐field switching establishes ...

Ripple‐Free Input Current Quadratic Converter Based on Watkin–Johnson Topology

open access: yesIET Power Electronics
This article proposes a power electronics converter capable of providing high voltage gain while keeping a high‐quality input current ripple operating with low duty cycle. The technique for achieving the zero input current ripple at a selected duty cycle

Techniques for Input Ripple Current Cancellation: Classification and Implementation

open access: yes, 2008
—Switching power supplies, due to their high-frequency switching operation, draw a substantial amount of input ripple current. Such ripple current manifests itself as electromagnetic interference (EMI). Active and passive ripple cancellation methods have

A Modified Multiphase Boost Converter with Reduced Input Current Ripple: Split Inductance and Capacitance Configuration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This thesis presents the simulation, design, and hardware implementation of a modified multiphase boost converter. Converter design must consider noise imposed on input and output nodes which connect to and influence the operation of other devices ...

Anisotropic Phonon Dynamics and Directional Transport in Actinide Van der Waals Semiconductor Uranium Triselenide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
USe3 is introduced as an actinide van der Waals semiconductor that mirrors the quasi‐one‐dimensional physics of transition‐metal trichalcogenides. Polarization‐resolved Raman spectroscopy on exfoliated flakes maps strong in‐plane phonon anisotropy and strain‐tunable mode shifts.

Step-Up Partial Power DC-DC Converters for Two-Stage PV Systems with Interleaved Current Performance

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
This work presents a partial power converter allowing us to obtain, with a single DC-DC converter, the same feature as the classical interleaved operation of two converters.

An Integrated Oxygen‐Supplying Device and Predictive Multiphysics Model for Extended Ambient Transport of Insulin‐Producing Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cell therapies typically rely on cold‐chain logistics and cryopreservation, limiting access and compromising cell quality. Here, a dual‐chamber device separates an oxygen‐supplying chamber from a hyaluronic acid cargo chamber, sustaining oxygen delivery for over 70 h and enabling ambient‐temperature shipment.

Upcycling Keratin‐Based Textile Waste Into High‐Performance Hybrid Fibers Via Tuning the Interfacial Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Keratin recovered from animal‐hair textile waste is fractionated and blended with cellulose to produce continuously spun hybrid fibers. Selecting the high‐molecular‐weight keratin fraction enables 30 wt.% keratin incorporation while maintaining high strength in dry and wet states.
