A noninvasive ultrasonic method for vascular input impedance determination applied in diagnosis of the carotid arteries

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2015
In this study, a new method is presented for diagnosis of the extracranial carotid arteries, based on analysis of the vascular input impedance noninvasively determined in human common carotid arteries.

Electromagnetic Signature of a Quadcopter Drone and Its Relationship With Coupling Mechanisms

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper presents an investigation of the electromagnetic signature and the coupling mechanism of quadcopter drones with incident electromagnetic (EM) wave and radar cross section (RCS) analysis.

Mixed-mode impedance and reflection coefficient of two-port devices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
From the point of view of mixed-mode scattering parameters, Smm, a two-port device can be excited using different driving conditions. Each condition leads to a particular set of input reflection and input impedance coefficient definitions that should be ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Four-Arm Sinuous Antenna With Low Input Impedance for Wide Gain Bandwidth

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
An improved method of reducing the input impedance of a four-arm sinuous antenna is demonstrated for a wide gain bandwidth. The proposed antenna has a dual-linear polarized response for electronic support measures (ESM) systems and is designed with a ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Comparative Study of Control Strategies for Stabilization and Performance Improvement of DC Microgrids with a CPL Connected

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The DC microgrid system is composed by converters that operate like feeders and loads. Among these loads, we highlight the constant power loads (CPLs) that may cause instability in the microgrid, observed in the form of undesired oscillations due to its ...
