Over 19% Efficient Inverted Organic Photovoltaics Featuring a Molecularly Doped Metal Oxide Electron‐Transporting Layer

Advanced Materials, Volume 36, Issue 35, August 28, 2024.
Molecular n‐doping of zinc oxide (ZnO) using the thermally activated molecule 1,3‐dimethylimidazolium‐2‐carboxylate is demonstrated. The doped ZnO is explored as part of a bilayer electron‐transporting channel in transistors and as an electron‐extracting interlayer in organic photovoltaics, yielding cells with a power conversion efficiency of over 19%.
