Multichromatic Analysis of InSAR Data

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2013
The multichromatic analysis (MCA) uses interferometric pairs of SAR images processed at range subbands and explores the phase trend of each pixel as a function of the dif- ferent central carrier frequencies to infer absolute optical path difference. This approach allows retrieving unambiguous height information on selected pixels, potentially solving ...

InSAR Analysis of Underground Gas Storage

IGARSS 2023 - 2023 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2023
Natural gas is an important source of energy used for domestic, industrial and transport purposes. Its presence is unevenly distributed in the world, and its consumption is subject to large seasonal fluctuations. In addressing this challenge, Underground Gas Storage (UGS) represents an important option to create national strategic reserves and helps ...

InSAR Coherence-Decomposition Analysis

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2010
The phase coherence in synthetic aperture radar interferometry is often used in classification algorithms to detect possible temporal changes of the imaged terrain. However, in mountain areas, the interferometric coherence is also sensitive to the slight variations of the acquisition geometry.

Integrating PS-InSAR and SBAS-InSAR for mining surface settlement monitoring

Journal of Mines, Metals and Fuels, 2022
Based on 38 Sentinel-1A images, this paper imports GCP points generated by PS-InSAR into SBAS-InSAR, instead of manually selected GCP points, extracts surface deformation in the study area, and compares and analyzes with traditional GPS monitoring data.

Insar Monitoring of Pipeline Routes

IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
In this study, we discuss the use of InSAR-SBAS deformation time-series analysis as part of an early warning technique to monitor the safety of oil pipelines on different terrains. We focus on an oil spill in a wetland area and identify potential risks along a new pipeline route. We analyzed 153 RADARSAT 2 InSAR images for both sites.

Geodetic Network Design for InSAR

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2015
Ground deformation can be monitored with subcentimetric precision from space, using interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR). This technique can sometimes be limited by a low density of naturally occurring phase-coherent radar targets. Measurement densification may be achieved through improvements in processing algorithms and new satellites ...

InSAR Monitoring of Landslides in Canada

IGARSS 2008 - 2008 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2008
In this study we used differential and CTM InSAR techniques to monitor landslide slides at different geological sites in Canada. Our results show that InSAR measurements are providing new information on the deformation behaviour of complex landslide processes.

Temporary targets for Arctic InSAR

2014 IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2014
The Arctic environment offers the biggest challenge for In-SAR; huge seasonal change, ice and snow cover for much of the year, and large variations in soil moisture. Yet the Arctic is often seen as a barometer for climate change and therefore being able to exploit technologies such as InSAR provides invaluable information not only for the communities ...

Influence of hydrometeors on InSAR observations

IGARSS 2003. 2003 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37477), 2004
Repeat-pass synthetic aperture radar interferometry is an important tool for measuring Earth surface topography and/or surface deformations. These observations, however, are highly affected by the atmosphere. Therefore, an accurate description of atmospheric distortions is very important to improve an accuracy of interferometric measurements.

Multi-scale feature extraction approaches for classification of insar and phase gradient insar images

2016 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2016
This paper investigates different multi-scale approaches in terms of feature extraction for classification of interfero-metric SAR (InSAR) and previously defined phase gradient InSAR (PGInSAR) images. For this purpose, the scale-space image representation approach is implemented together with the two partial derivative based structure matrices, namely ...
