Emergent Spinning and Orbital Motion in Clustered Wind‐Assisted Flyers

Inspired by natural snowflake geometries, paper‐cut flyers exhibit geometry‐defined spinning and orbital motions during cluster formation in a wind tunnel. Collective flights of multiple paperflakes reveal dynamic clustering, fragmentation, and continuously evolving spin behaviors.

A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43

Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.

Regulating Droplet Dynamics via Wormlike Micelle Networks: From Splash Suppression to Precise Confined Spreading

As displayed in Graphical Abstract image.tif, a molecular‐design strategy precisely tailors high‐speed droplet dynamics through programmed surfactant co‐assembly. The structural transition into an entangled wormlike micelle network completely suppresses stochastic splashing on fibrous substrates.

Transposable Element–Driven PIEZO Mutation Enhances Locust Flight in Plateau Hypoxia

Why transposable elements (TEs) persisted or expanded in genomes remains a mystery. Using integrated analysis of TE macro‐ and microevolution in locusts, our results showed that thousands of TE insertions promoted widespread adaptive variation. Subfamilies of candidate adaptive TEs amplified and reshaped species‐level genomic architecture.

Monitoring of lepidopterous insect migrations using the migration trap.

本調査では,マイグレーション・トラップを用いて鱗翅目昆虫移動の調査を行った。イチモンジセセリの移動を奈良県葛城山で調査した。イチモンジセセリの捕獲は,多くの観察例から予測されたように,明らかに南西方向への飛翔に有意な片寄りがみられた。移動個体数は0.12∼0.43匹/m2/時程度であると推定された。鱗翅目昆虫一般を対象として,岡山市近郊の3地点(岡山大学附属農場,津高牧場,半田山演習林)に定期的に東西,南北両方向にトラップを設置して調査した。全体で82種の鱗翅目昆虫が捕獲された。捕獲された昆虫のうち,個体数が多く飛翔方向に有意な片寄りがみられた種は,コブノメイガ,スジキリヨトウ,シロオビノメイガ,アワノメイガ,フタテンヒメヨトウ,アワヨトウの6種であった ...

The Plant‐to‐Plant Circular Strategy: Coupling Photodegradation and Phytoremediation With Plant‐Based Nanomaterials for Plastic Degradation

Plant‐based nanomaterials derived from alfalfa serve as dual‐function catalysts, coupling photodegradation and phytoremediation to degrade polyethylene under UV‐A light and in soil. The nanomaterials work synergistically with alfalfa and soil microbes, achieving efficient plastic breakdown without trophic transfer.
