We assess the effect of sanitation felling performed in 2022 in North‐Eastern Italy on bark beetle damage that occurred in 2023 across eight spruce forest types, as evaluated using multispectral satellite imagery. Bark beetle damage was reduced only at very high or very low sanitation felling rates.

Habitat suitability of Thrips palmi worldwide was predicted using the MaxEnt model. Precipitation of the driest month, precipitation of the wettest month and annual mean temperature were identified as the key climatic drivers influencing its distribution.

In central Ukraine, the migratory butterfly Vanessa cardui emerged as a key pest of organic soybean during its outbreaks in 2019 and 2022. Despite early defoliation, crops recovered strongly due to high parasitism by Cotesia vestalis, reaching 100% in some fields.
