Synthetic and Structure-Activity Relationship of Insecticidal Bufadienolides

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2014
A new synthetic analog of bufadienolide, methyl isobryophyllinate A ( 1 ), and a known synthetic analog, methyl isobersaldegenate-1,3,5-orthoacetate ( 2 ), were obtained by methanolysis of bryophyllin A ( 3 ) and bersaldegenin-1,3,5-orthoacetate ( 5 ) in

The Correlation of the Presence and Expression Levels of cry Genes with the Insecticidal Activities against Plutella xylostella for Bacillus thuringiensis Strains

open access: yesToxins, 2014
The use of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) strains with high insecticidal activity is essential for the preparation of bioinsecticide. In this study, for 60 Bt strains isolated in Taiwan, their genotypes and the correlation of some cry genes as well as the ...

Evaluation and Characterization of the Insecticidal Activity and Synergistic Effects of Different GroEL Proteins from Bacteria Associated with Entomopathogenic Nematodes on Galleria mellonella

open access: yesToxins, 2023
GroEL is a chaperonin that helps other proteins fold correctly. However, alternative activities, such as acting as an insect toxin, have also been discovered.

Production of insecticidal materials from Pseudomonas tamsuii

open access: yes, 2016
Pseudomonas tamsuii TKU015 produced insecticidal materials using squid pen as the sole carbon and nitrogen source. The insecticidal activity of the produced metabolites was evaluated against Drosophila melanogaster larvae. The growth of P. tamsuii TKU015

Cotton Recruits Soil‐Derived Delftia tsuruhatensis to Suppress Aphid Detoxification Via Salicylic Acid‐Mediated Defense

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study systematically reveals a complex interactive network involving plants, microbes, and insects, elucidating the ecological and molecular mechanisms by which cotton enhances its resistance to aphids through the active recruitment of the beneficial soil bacterium Delftia tsuruhatensis.

INSECTICIDAL ACTIVITY OF Plocamium cartilagineum MONOTERPENES

The pyrethrins and related compounds. Part XXXVIII. Optimisation of insecticidal activity in 3-[(alkoxyimino)methyl]-4-fluorobenzyl esters

open access: yes, 1995
Optimisation of activity in 3-[(alkoxyimino)methylbenzyl] esters has been investigated by introducing an alpha-cyano group and a fluorine atom in position 4 of the benzylic moiety in conjunction with varying the length and nature of the side chain.

A Disaggregation Strategy for Nanopesticide Fabrication: Investigating the Impact of Nanosizing on Pesticide Biointeractions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To explore the impact of nanosizing on pesticide biointeractions, a 7‐nm (average) emamectin benzoate nanopesticide without nanocarriers or surfactants is fabricated via HOAc‐mediated disaggregation. Nanosizing enhances bioactivity against Megalurothrips usitatus and Meloidogyne enterolobii and improves plant penetration.

Bacillus thuringiensis delta-endotoxin Cry1 hybrid proteins with increased activity against the Colorado potato beetle

open access: yes, 2001
Cry1 delta-endotoxins of Bacillus thuringiensis are generally active against lepidopteran insects, but Cry1Ba and Cry1Ia have additional, though low, levels of activity against coleopterans such as the Colorado potato beetle.
