PERIPHERAL VASCULAR EFFECTS OF THE INSECTICIDE ENDRIN

Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology, 1965
The peripheral vascular actions of insecticides are relatively unexplored. The effects of the chlorinated hydrocarbon insecticide endrin on vascular resistances were investigated in forelimbs of anesthetized dogs. Total arterial, small-vessel, and venous segmental resistances were determined in innervated and denervated limbs following lethal ...

Insecticidal Effects of Activated Charcoal and Clays

Nature, 1959
BRISCOE1, Kitchner et al. 2, Wigglesworth3, and Parkin4 have studied the ‘inert’ dusts for their insecticidal action. Reports on the insecticidal properties of ‘inert’ dusts, particularly of silica, coal ash, diamond, ‘Carborundum’, dusts from blast furnaces, flint, felspar, magnesite and dolomite are available1,2,4.

Insecticides effective against cabbage maggot

Crops & Soils, 2016
Cabbage maggot is a serious insect pest of brassica crops such as broccoli and cauliflower in the Central Coast of California. The efficacy of 29 insecticides was determined against cabbage maggot through a laboratory bioassay by exposing field‐collected maggots to insecticide‐treated soil immediately after application. The another toxic effect if carbamate insecticides

Acta Biologica Hungarica, 2009
The activities of the antioxidant and detoxifying enzymes, superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GSHPx), glutathione reductase (GR), glutathione-S-transferase (GST), and the content of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) were determined in the liver and kidney of rabbits after exposure to bendiocarb.

The Effect of Lead on Insecticide Metabolism

Drug and Chemical Toxicology, 1986
The possibility that lead could affect the metabolism of the insecticide 1,1-dichloro-2, 2-bis(p-chlorophenyl)ethane, DDD, was examined by studies of the effects of chronic oral Pb treatment on DDD conversion to 2,2-bis(p-chlorophenyl)acetic acid, DDA.

The effects of washing and duration of use of long-lasting insecticidal nets (PermaNets) on insecticidal effectiveness

Acta Tropica, 2008
The use of insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) is one of the most feasible weapons available for malaria control in Africa today. One of the important requirements for ITN use is regular re-treatment at an appropriate time. As a response to the low re-treatment rate when the ITN users are expected to purchase insecticide and re-treat their nets ...

Effects of Insecticides on Algae

1984
Algae are common inhabitants of surface waters and are encountered in every water system that is exposed to sunlight. They range from unicellular to filamentous types. Most of the algae, including diatoms, green algae, dinoflagellates and chrysophytes, are significant organisms in the aquatic environment, while the blue-green algae are important in ...

Effects of insecticides on acariasis in mice

Laboratory Animals, 1972
Inbred mice of strains CBA/T6T6, A, C57BL/10Sn and B10.LP were found to be infested in ascending order of severity by Myocoptes musculinus or Myobia musculi mites. All of the 4 insecticidal preparations applied to 5-month-old mice killed the adult stages of Myocoptes musculinus within 2-6 hours, but only 1 was active against Myobia musculi.
