Entomological Surveillance of Behavioural Resilience and Resistance in Residual Malaria Vector Populations. [PDF]
The most potent malaria vectors rely heavily upon human blood so they are vulnerable to attack with insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) and indoor residual spraying (IRS) within houses. Mosquito taxa that can avoid feeding or resting indoors, or by obtaining

RNA degradomics revealed dsProsβ1‐derived siRNA‐mediated mRNA cleavage events, mainly at uracil‐guanine and adenine‐adenine pairs. Proteasome inhibition via dsProsβ1 increased mitochondrial and cytoskeletal proteins while reducing translation‐related and mRNA‐binding proteins.

RAPD PCR Confirms Absence of Genetic Variation Between Insecticide Resistant Variants of the Green Peach Aphid, \u3ci\u3eMyzus Persicae\u3c/i\u3e (Homoptera: Aphididae) [PDF]
Previous allozyme analysis has revealed an apparent absence of enzyme variability in the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer). We are interested in determining the genetic relatedness of individual M persicae clones carrying different numbers of ...

Increasing canola plant density reduced flea beetle abundance per plant and increased yield, independent of region or insecticide use, highlighting its potential as a component of integrated pest management. Abstract The crucifer flea beetle, Phyllotreta cruciferae (Goeze), and the striped flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolata (Fabricius) (Coleoptera ...

HIV-positive nigerian adults harbor significantly higher serum lumefantrine levels than HIV-negative individuals seven days after treatment for Plasmodium falciparum infection. [PDF]
Management of coinfection with malaria and HIV is a major challenge to public health in developing countries, and yet potential drug-drug interactions between antimalarial and antiviral regimens have not been adequately investigated in people with both ...

SYN‐A, a naturally derived synergist, inhibited key metabolic pathways associated with pyrethroid insecticide resistance in cabbage stem flea beetle (CSFB) and its parasitoid Microctonus brassicae. SYN‐A restored pyrethroid efficacy against resistant CSFB allowing up to 80% reduction in application rates.

Genotype and cropping system influenced oilseed rape ecophysiological traits, including glucosinolate compounds (glucoraphanin, glucobrassicanapin, and butyl‐glucosinolates) and biomass, which were linked to Psylliodes chrysocephala larval infestation, with varietal effects stronger than faba bean companion planting.

Insecticide resistance threatens the success achieved through vector control in reducing the burden of malaria. An understanding of insecticide resistance mechanisms would help to develop novel tools and strategies to restore the efficacy of insecticides.

Experimental setup for dsRNA feeding in Brassicogethes aeneus to evaluate the effect of a synthetic polymer nanocarrier on RNAi efficiency. The experiment assessed whether the nanocarrier enhances RNAi after oral dsRNA delivery. (a) Stability of dsRNA–nanocarrier complexes was tested in simulated gut conditions. (b) Gene expression of αCOP and dre4 was
