Examination of the queuine-insertase RNA modificaton in breast cancer

open access: yes, 2016
Queuine is a bacterial-derived metabolite that is harvested by eukaryotes and incorporated into tRNA at GUN anticodon sequences (N=A/C/G/U) by displacing the nuclear encoded guanine base by the queuine-insertase enzyme. Despite efforts over 40 years a specific function for the queuine modification remains elusive.

Membrane protein insertases of the YidC/Oxa1/Alb3 protein family

open access: yes, 2015
Every living cells consists of a unique set of proteins that fulfil the vital functions required for life. Some proteins function in the lipid bilayer that acts as a barrier to separate the inside and outside of a cell. These membrane proteins are extremely hydrophobic and unstable in an aqueous environment.
