Cube-shaped sound-insulating enclosures: Experimental tests and calculation models

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics
The research described in the article concerns sound-insulating enclosures used for sound sources imitating a noisy machine or device. It is a continuation of experimental tests and modelling studies conducted previously on a prototype test stand, in ...

Microwave technique measures plasma characteristics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1965
Plasma electron density and temperature distribution are measured by passing a high frequency millimeter wave through plasma. Variations in density and temperature are determined by measuring insertion loss as the plasma travels between the microwave ...

Non-volatile Optical Switch Based on a GST-Loaded Directional Coupler [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We present a non-volatile optical switch based on a directional coupler comprising a silicon-Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST) hybrid waveguide. The non-volatility of GST makes it attractive for reducing static power consumption in optical switching.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Non-Reciprocal gain in non-Hermitian time-Floquet Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We explore the unconventional wave scattering properties of non-Hermitian systems in which amplification or damping are induced by time-periodic modulation.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

THE INSERTION LOSS OF POROELASTIC PLATE SILENCERS IN A FLOW DUCT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Idealized silencers consisting of cavity-backed clamped porous elastic plates parallel to the direction of flow can result in low frequency attenuation of noise in the duct.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Design to reliability shielded vertical interconnection applied to microwave Chip Scale Packaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
This paper presents the electrical design, measurement and reliability ests of a shielded vertical interconnection dedicated to microwave solder-mount packages. Electromagnetic simulations show very good results up to 20 GHz.
