Relationships between host plant architecture and gall abundance and survival Correlação entre a arquitetura da planta hospedeira e a abundância e sobrevivência de um inseto galhador

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Entomologia, 2008
The plant architecture hypothesis predicts that variation in host plant architecture influences insect herbivore community structure, dynamics and performance. In this study we evaluated the effects of Macairea radula (Melastomataceae) architecture on the abundance of galls induced by a moth (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae).

The gall inducer Clusiamyia nitida Maia, 1996 (Diptera, Cecidomyiidae) often infests the shrub Clusia lanceolata (Camb.) (Clusiaceae) in the Neotropical vegetation of restinga of Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil. Leaves of Clusia lanceolata host up to 20 spheroid galls and show variation in their shape.

open access: yes, 2009
The richness of galling insects is high in southeastern Brazil. However, there are a lack of surveys in many areas. The aim of this study was to describe the richness of galling insects and their host plants from Serra da Mantiqueira - Brazil.

EFEITO DO HABITAT E DO PERÍODO DE COLETA NA FAUNA DE INSETOS GALHADORES ASSOCIADOS À COPAIFERA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018

open access: yes, 2019
Gall-forming insects are sophisticated sedentary herbivores that present high level of specificity with host plant, but their performance can be affected by biotic and abiotic factors. In this study we have tested two predictions: a) plants that have a greater number of conspecific neighbors have greater richness and abundance of gall-forming insects ...

open access: yes, 2012
Galling insects are known to modify the plant tissues forming abnormal structures called galls. In this work, we record and characterize galls in a typical cerrado area in a semi-urban region of Caldas Novas, Goiás, Brazil. Fifty-six morphotypes of galls

open access: yes, 2022
Galls are alterations in the plant tissue of host plants triggered mainly by insects. In this thesis, I carried out a survey of the occurrence of galls in six vegetation remnants of caatinga s.s.
