Rheocasting versus Die Casting: An Insight into the Low‐Cycle Fatigue Behavior of AlSi7Mg0.6
The study compares rheocast lightweight components with high‐pressure die cast materials regarding microstructure and fatigue behavior. Rheocast process offers higher efficiency due to lower casting temperatures. Despite some microstructural differences, both processes show similar strengths (yield strength 125 MPa, tensile strength 240 MPa).

A FAMILY OF DIRECTIVE METAMATERIAL-INSPIRED ANTENNAS
A new family of metamaterial-inspired monopole antennas designed for GPS operation is reported. By adding a simple Split-Ring Resonator (SRR) into the near-fleld region of a monopole antenna resonating at 2.45GHz, we have created a second resonance situated in the L1-band (f = 1;537 for example) lower than the monopole's one. At this new resonance, the

Transfer of Energy and Momentum Between Magnetoactive Surface Microstructure and a Solid Object
We demonstrate that magnetoactive multilamellar arrays subjected to a rotating magnetic field can function as platforms for controlled transport of physical objects. Through systematic experimental investigation, we elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms determining the upper limit of the achievable transportation speed in such magnetic “conveyor‐

Accuracy of areal interpolation methods for count data
The combination of several socio-economic data bases originating from different administrative sources collected on several different partitions of a geographic zone of interest into administrative units induces the so called areal interpolation problem.

Inflammatory Response‐Inspired Thermochromic Shield for Pneumatic Structures
A thermochromic shield for pneumatic structures is developed, using anhydrous sodium acetate powder and thermochromic pigment‐included solution. In this shield composed of three layers, the exothermic and thermochromic reactions, followed by the mixture of both components, occur promptly with an incident of penetrating damage as a sign of initial ...

Bio-inspired Sound Localization Sensor with High Directional Sensitivity [PDF]
AbstractMEMS microphones inspired by Ormia ochracea are constrained by their reliance on the resonant behavior of the system, forcing designers to compromise the goal of high amplification of directional cues to operate across the audio range.
