Bending instability of electrically charged liquid jets of polymer solutions in electrospinning

, 2000
Nanofibers of polymers were electrospun by creating an electrically charged jet of polymer solution at a pendent droplet. After the jet flowed away from the droplet in a nearly straight line, it bent into a complex path and other changes in shape ...

Organizational Identity, Image, and Adaptive Instability

, 2000
Organizational identity usually is portrayed as that which is core, distinctive, and enduring about the character of an organization. We argue that because of the reciprocal interrelationships between identity and image, organizational identity, rather ...

Bobylev’s instability

Physical Review E, 2000
In 1982 Bobylev [A.V. Bobylev, Sov. Phys. Dokl. 27, 29 (1982)] made a linear stability analysis of the Burnett equations and showed that beyond a certain critical reduced wave number there exist normal modes that grow exponentially, concluding that the Burnett equations are linearly unstable. We have partially extended his analysis, originally made for

On the instability of secretin

Life Sciences, 1981
Abstract Secretin has repeatedly been said to be unstable. We found that the biological potency of secretin solutions under some conditions decreased. We tested hypotheses about the cause(s). Adsorption of secretin on materials in which it is stored may account for most of the rapid decrease of biological potency.

The Nature of Instability

Spine, 1984
(Clinical) instability is that (symptomatic) condition where, in the absence of new injury, a physiologic load induces abnormally large deformations at the intervertebral joint.

The instability of the autogen

Journal of Molecular Evolution, 1983
The autogen theory has sought to provide a mechanism for the rapid origin of a self-replicating chemical system from short, random oligomers. The autogen is considered in terms of hypercycle theory, and its dynamic behavior is subjected to fixed point analysis. It is shown that the components of the autogen are incapable of stable coexistence.

INSTABILITY IN SPONDYLOLISTHESIS

Orthopedics, 1991
ABSTRACT Anteroposterior translation as a sign of segmental instability was documented by tractioncompression radiography in the majority of lumbar segments presenting lytic or degenerative spondylolisthesis with normal disc space height Severity of lower back pain symptoms correlated with the degree of instability, but not with the amount of
