Adaptable Tile‐Based Pneumatic Origami through Structurally Coupled Localized Actuation
This article presents tile‐based pneumatic origami structures with rigid tiles and flexible fabric creases, achieving adaptable properties including morphing shape, selective multistability, and tunable stiffness. Independently pressurized folding bladders at each crease enable structurally coupled localized actuation of origami structures.

Anisotropic rupture of polymer strips driven by Rayleigh instability [PDF]
We demonstrate that the separated polymer strips of micro- and sub-micro-length-scales rupture anisotropically along the strip direction, resulting in the formation of distinctly observable, regularly spaced polymer drops. The wavelength of the polymer drops and the surface tension dependence of the rupture behavior are found to be well represented by ...

The period distribution of Cepheids: a test of stellar evolution
The period distributions of classical Cepheids in the Small and Large Magellanic Cloud are quite different. Using the TRILEGAL population synthesis code and a theoretical instability strip the ultimate aim is to understand these differences ...

SEARCH OF VARIABILITY OF THE COMPANION OF THE CLASSICAL CEPHEID EV SCT
Spectroscopic observations of EV Sct obtained on 4m telescope at KPNO showed that the secondary component is probably situated within the instability strip (Kovtyukh & Andrievsky, 1999). Some observers (Pel, 1976; Mermilliod, 1987) have noted a signicant

A Robust Dual‐mode Self‐Monitoring Battery Thermal Management System via Bilayer Structural Design
An adaptive dual‐mode material capable of both evaporative cooling and photothermal preheating is developed. It achieves a cooling efficiency of 53.9%, surpassing existing evaporative cooling counterparts, and a self‐monitoring capability, making it ideal for electric vehicles, portable electronics, and grid‐scale energy storage.
