On the instability strip of the Cepheid stars
The location of the instability strip in the C-M diagram of Galactic Cepheids is discussed with the aid of the 1990 calculations of model Cepheids by Chiosi & Wood. It is found that the difficulty pointed out by Fernie (the slope of the empirical red boundary of the strip is different from that customarily assumed) has no reason to occur because it is ...

Dynamic Stability of Moderately Thick Composite Laminated Skew Plates using Finite Strip Method [PDF]
The dynamic instability regions of composite laminated skew flat plates subjected to uniform in-plane axial end-loading are investigated. The in-plane loading is assumed as a combination of a time-invariant component and a harmonic time-varying component

The Araucaria Project: A study of the classical Cepheid in the eclipsing binary system OGLE LMC562.05.9009 in the Large Magellanic Cloud [PDF]
We present a detailed study of the classical Cepheid in the double-lined, highly eccentric eclipsing binary system OGLE-LMC562.05.9009. The Cepheid is a fundamental mode pulsator with a period of 2.988 days. The orbital period of the system is 1550 days.

Empirical instability strip for classical Cepheids
Aims. The aim of this study is to determine empirical intrinsic edges of the classical Cepheids instability strip (IS) in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) galaxy; we considered various effects that alter its shape, and compared them with theoretical ...

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Deep Transverse Lateral Retinaculum Reconstruction for Medial Patellar Instability
Medial patellar instability can be a disabling complication of an extensive lateral retinaculum release. It is often overlooked, and for the diagnosis, it is necessary to have a high index of suspicion.

Instabilities in a drop-strip system: a simplified model [PDF]
We study the deformation of an elastic strip by a liquid drop. At small enough scales, capillarity is the dominant fluid effect and surface tension forces may be sufficient to fold the beam, resulting in the wrapping of the drop by the beam. However, wrapping of the drop can be inhibited by the weight of the beam, which creates an energy barrier.

ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.

Current-induced dendritic magnetic instability in superconducting MgB2 films
Magneto-optical imaging reveals that in superconducting films of MgB2 a transport current creates avalanche-like flux dynamics where highly branching dendritic penetration patterns are formed.
