Pedicled Strip of Quadriceps Tendon Graft for Primary Medial Patellofemoral Ligament Reconstruction in Recurrent Patellofemoral Instability: A Systematic Review [PDF]

open access: yesAl-Azhar International Medical Journal
Background: To determine the benefits and drawbacks, a comprehensive literature review was performed. In patients with recurrent patellofemoral instability, it is important to evaluate the efficacy of using a pedicled quadriceps tendon autograft for ...

Deep Transverse Lateral Retinaculum Reconstruction for Medial Patellar Instability

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2015
Medial patellar instability can be a disabling complication of an extensive lateral retinaculum release. It is often overlooked, and for the diagnosis, it is necessary to have a high index of suspicion.

The blue-edge problem of the V1093 Herculis instability strip revisited using evolutionary models with atomic diffusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
peer reviewedWe have computed a new grid of evolutionary subdwarf B star (sdB) models from the start of central He burning, taking into account atomic diffusion due to radiative levitation, gravitational settling, concentration diffusion, and thermal ...

Addressing Economic Insecurities Can Improve Patient‐Reported Outcomes in Lupus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Economic insecurities, such as food, housing, transportation, and financial challenges, are modifiable risk factors and influence patient‐reported outcomes (PROs) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We examined the following: (1) associations between economic insecurities and PROs, and (2) the impact of screening and addressing economic ...

Causes of Construction delay in UNRWA projects in the Gaza Strip [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Construction delay causes time and cost overruns for both owners and contractors. Claims and disputes may also be created due to construction delay. This paper investigated the causes and levels of delay on 90 completed projects in the Gaza Strip.

The instability strip of ZZ Ceti white dwarfs I. Introduction of time-dependent convection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
peer reviewedAims. The determination of the location of the theoretical ZZ Ceti instability strip in the log g − Teff diagram has remained a challenge over the years due to the lack of a suitable treatment for convection in these stars.

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Vortex dynamics on a Möbius strip [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
We consider the dynamics of a two-dimensional incompressible perfect fluid on a Möbius strip embedded in R3. The vorticity-streamfunction formulation of the Euler equations is derived from an exterior-calculus form of the momentum equation.

Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.
