A continuous population of variable stars up to about 1.5 mag above the horizontal branch?
Increasing samples of pulsating variable stars populating the classical instability strip from the horizontal branch to a few magnitudes brighter are being found in several Local Group galaxies, irrespective of the galaxy morphological type.

Post-asymptotic giant branch nonradial instability strips
Stability analyses are performed for nonradial g(+)-mode pulsations of postasymptotic AGB stellar models to determine the location of their pulsational instability strips in the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram. Stellar models are analyzed that are assumed to have undergone a major mass loss event either near the tip of the AGB or shortly thereafter and ...

Enzymatically crosslinked gelatin‐based organohydrogels, fabricated through a fully bio‐based and scalable process, exhibit exceptional strain and temperature sensing capabilities with minimal interference from environmental humidity. These transparent, stretchable, and ionically conductive materials operate without synthetic fillers or dopants.

On the Structure of the Cepheid Instability Strip [PDF]
Using rich photometric material on the Cepheids in the Galaxy and the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, the structure of the instability strip in the HR diagram is investigated. The method of the δ-δ diagrams is used, δ being the difference of certain Cepheid characteristics from the means for a given period.

Adaptive 4D‐Printed Vascular Stents With Low‐Temperature‐Activated and Intelligent Deployment
Microarchitected coronary artery stents were fabricated using a polycaprolactone (PCL)‐based shape memory polymer (SMP) composite via projection micro‐stereolithography (PµSL) 4D printing. By incorporating diethyl phthalate (DEP) as a plasticizer, the thermal transition temperature (Ttran) was modulated to about 37°C, enabling rapid and autonomous ...

The ZZ Ceti Instability Strip for the Most Massive White Dwarf Pulsators
We present time-series photometry of 31 massive DA white dwarfs with M ≳ 0.9 M _⊙ within the ZZ Ceti instability strip from the Montreal White Dwarf Database 100 pc sample.

We describe a methodology that allows us to follow the pulsational behavior of an RR Lyrae model consistently and automatically along its evolutionary track throughout the whole instability strip. It is based on the powerful amplitude equation formalism,

An epi‐intraneural interface is developed through in silico optimization and a novel tridimensional microfabrication pipeline. The device integrates penetrating and epineural contacts on a flexible substrate. Mechanical, electrochemical, and in vivo testing in rat and pig reveal robust implantation, low‐threshold activation, and site‐dependent ...

Numerical Simulation of Heat Transfer Problem in Hot and Cold Rolling Process
An efficient numerical model had been developed to model the thermal behaviour of the rolling process. An Eulerian formulation was employed to minimize the number of grid points required. The model is capable to calculate the temperature distribution,

Spatially Tailorable Liquid Crystalline Elastomer Alignment During Digital Light Process 3D Printing
Here, we report the fabrication of 3D printable liquid crystalline elastomer (LCE) structures with spatially tailorable alignment domains within the same layer. This work addresses the long‐standing challenge of preparing complex 3D LCE architectures with patterned functional domains to achieve nonlinear deformations. Fabrication of multi‐domains in 3D
