Experimental analysis of accelerometer installation error

2010 International Conference on Computer, Mechatronics, Control and Electronic Engineering, 2010
When accelerometer is installed, errors would be produced, which will greatly degrade the measurement accuracy, so to the tracking precision while being applied in the compound control. We make the experimental analysis for the accelerometer installation, in which the accelerometer is installed parallel to the azimuth and 30° degree away the azimuth ...

Errors in fabricating and installing reflective prisms

Journal of Optical Technology, 2011
This paper analyzes how errors of fabrication and deployment affect the position of the baseline (the optical axis) when reflective prisms are being assembled. An expression is obtained for the law of refraction in matrix form, making it possible to use a simple and obvious derivation to obtain the decoplanarity invariant.

Effects of child restraint system features on installation errors

Applied Ergonomics, 2014
This study examined how child restraint system (CRS) features contribute to CRS installation errors. Sixteen convertible CRS, selected to include a wide range of features, were used in volunteer testing with 32 subjects. Subjects were recruited based on their education level (high or low) and experience with installing CRS (none or experienced).

Dental anaesthetic emergency caused by medical gas pipeline installation error

Australian Dental Journal, 1983
Abstract— An incident caused by the crossing of gas pipelines behind a surgery wall during installation is reported. The relevance, incidence, and dangers are discussed. Attention is drawn to Australian Standard AS 1169–1973 (presently under revision) and the recommendations contained therein regarding the installation and testing of such pipelines.

Error estimate of a fiber optic displacement transducer installation

Measurement Techniques, 1990
Existing contactless photoelectric systems for dynamic displacement measurements are awkward, not very convenient, and primarily are utilized in stationary laboratory installations. These disadvantages are absent in fiber-optic transducers (FOT) that are among a known class of devices, fiber-optic sensors of physical quantities that convert the ...

Thermal error compensation of linear axis with fixed-fixed installation

International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2020
Abstract To improve the machining accuracy of machine tool, thermal error modeling and compensation methods are proposed from the view of formation mechanism of thermally-induced error of ball-screw linear axis with fixed-fixed installation. The relationships among such factors as heat generation, heat dissipation, thermal stress, temperature rise ...

Visual detection method for installation error of grating measurement system

AOPC 2020: Optics Ultra Precision Manufacturing and Testing, 2020
In order to complete the detection of small displacements, the principle of grating diffraction interference is used to convert the displacement of the measured target into the change of the light and dark of the fringes after interference. The displacement information is estimated by detecting the change in light intensity.

Installation Error Dynamic Correction Based on Quasi-Linear Model

2010 Third International Conference on Information and Computing, 2010
In order to suppress the installation errors of photoelectric payload and increase the precision of target location using photoelectric payload equipped on the aerial mobile platform, a new method of calibrating fixing errors dynamically is proposed based on quasi-linear model.

SINS Installation Error Calibration Based on Multi-Position Combinations

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
A new method is proposed to calibrate the installation errors of SINS. According to the method, the installation errors of the gyro and accelerometer can be calibrated simultaneously, which not depend on latitude, gravity, scale factor and earth's rotation rate.
