Estimation de la fréquence instantanée des signaux FM par opérateur d'énergie Psi_B [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Psi_B energy operator is an extension of the cross Teager-Kaiser energy operator which is an non-linear energy tracking operator to deal with complex signals and its usefulness for non-stationary signals analysis has been demonstrated. In this letter two

An iterative method for instantaneous frequency estimation

open access: yes, 2021
In this paper, we propose an iterative method to estimate the instantaneous frequency of a signal based on the discrete evolutionary transform (DET). The DET provides a representation for non-stationary signals and a time-frequency kernel that permits us

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Estimation of the respiratory rate from ballistocardiograms using the Hilbert transform

open access: yesBioMedical Engineering OnLine, 2022
Background Measuring the respiratory rate is usually associated with discomfort for the patient due to contact sensors or a high time demand for healthcare personnel manually counting it.

Breaking the Limits: Redefining the Instantaneous Frequency [PDF]

open access: yesCircuits, Systems, and Signal Processing, 2017
The Carson and Fry (1937) introduced the concept of variable frequency as a generalization of the constant frequency. The instantaneous frequency (IF) is the time derivative of the instantaneous phase and it is well-defined only when this derivative is positive.

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Instantaneous Frequency Estimation and Localization

open access: yes, 2016
In many applications, a critical feature of a nonstationary signal is provided by its instantaneous frequency (IF), which accounts for the signal spectral variations as a function of time. This chapter presents methods and algorithms for the localization and estimation of the signal IF using timefrequency (t, f) based methods.

The relationship between instantaneous frequency and time-frequency representations [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1993
This paper describes a procedure for the time-frequency analysis of signals based on Time-Frequency Distribution (TFD) and Instantaneous Frequency (IF) estimation. First we use a suitable TFD to determine the number of signal components. Then if the signal is monocomponent , the IF law cam be estimated directly.

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

The use of the instantaneous frequency of electroencephalogram rhythms for the detection of latent epileptiform process

open access: yesДоклады Белорусского государственного университета информатики и радиоэлектроники, 2019
The relation between the presence of latent epileptiform process and the change of the instantaneous parameters of the signals of the electroencephalogram is established in the work.
