Adiabatic Expansion for Metric Perturbation and the condition to solve the Gauge Problem for Gravitational Radiation Reaction Problem

open access: yes, 2006
We examine the adiabatic approximation in the study of a relativistic two-body problem with the gravitational radiation reaction. We recently pointed out that the usual metric perturbation scheme using a perturbation of the stress-energy tensor may not ...

Novel Assessment of Ischemia in Patients With Anomalous Right Coronary Artery

open access: yesJACC: Case Reports, 2019
Anomalous right coronary arteries are usually benign; however, sudden death owing to myocardial ischemia, especially during exertion, have been reported in patients with intramural or interarterial course, which is likely due to dynamic obstruction.

Numerical analysis of the 3D flow induced by propagation of plane-wave deformations on thin membranes inside microchannels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Propulsion mechanisms of microorganisms are based on either beating or screw-like motion of thin elastic biopolymers. Arguably, this motion is optimal for propulsion at very low Reynolds numbers. Similar actuation mechanisms can be utilized in the design

A Scalable, Durable, Fire‐Safe All‐Day Passive Radiative Cooling Coating for Sustainable Buildings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports a scalable, durable coating that combines a fire‑retardant copolymer adhesive, hollow glass microspheres, and boron oxide to achieve passive radiative cooling with over 94% solar reflectance and >95% mid‑infrared emissivity. The coating maintains performance after UV and rain exposure and exhibits UL‑94 V‑0 fire resistance, enabling ...

The Dynamics of Interfacial Trap States in High‐Detectivity Near‐Infrared Photomultiplication Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Photomultiplication organic photodetectors (PM OPDs) are an attractive strategy for health‐monitoring. Here, PM‐OPDs are reported with a specific detectivity of 5.7 × 1012 Jones and external quantum efficiency values of 3500% under −10 V. The dynamics of carrier trapping in these devices are elucidated through trap selective spectroscopical techniques.
