The Intersectional Dynamics of Skill Underutilization: A Case Study of College‐Educated Iranian Migrant Women in California

open access: yesSociological Forum, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT There are paradoxical and sociological questions surrounding migrants of certain ethno‐national backgrounds—particularly women—whose high levels of education do not consistently translate into employment commensurate with their skills, resulting in what is commonly termed “brain waste.” This study critically examines the role of employer ...

Association Between Time in Range and Advanced Cardiovascular‐Kidney‐Metabolic Syndrome in Older Adults With Type 2 Diabetes

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 10, Page 9265-9274, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Cardiovascular, kidney and metabolic diseases are pathophysiologically interrelated and are conceptualised within the cardiovascular‐kidney‐metabolic (CKM) syndrome framework. However, evidence linking continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) to CKM syndrome remains limited.

In Silico and In Vitro Evaluation of Atriplex halimus: Antibacterial Activity, Molecular Docking, ADMET Profiling, and Cytotoxicity Assessment

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Atriplex halimus aqueous and hydroethanolic extracts, rich in trans‐cinnamic acid, catechin, epigallocatechin, and vitamin C. The Extracts showed modest antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and dose‐dependent cytotoxicity in Artemia salina.

Structural Attributes Outweigh Topographical Effects in Determining Vascular Plant Diversity Within Southern Apennine Old‐Growth Forests

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
Forest structure accounted for a larger unique fraction of vascular plant compositional variation in Southern Apennine old‐growth forests (23.5%) than topography alone (12.8%), with a substantial shared contribution between the two predictor sets.

Proteomics‐Based Identification of the Pyroptosis‐Related Biomarker PCSK9 and Its Association With the Pathogenesis of Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, Volume 42, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a common autoimmune disease, and early diagnosis is critical for effective treatment. This study aims to identify potential biomarkers related to pyroptosis through serum proteomics analysis, offering new insights for the early diagnosis of RA.

Repeated trends in altitudinal gradients of diversity: How habitat filtering and biotic interactions structure ecological communities

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 95, Issue 9, Page 1672-1685, September 2026.
This study reveals that tropical butterfly communities show remarkably consistent elevational patterns of diversity and phylogenetic structure across regions with contrasting evolutionary histories, demonstrating how regional species pools and local ecological factors jointly shape biodiversity along altitudinal gradients.

Lack of Differences in the Pharmacokinetics of Therapeutic Monoclonal Antibodies Between Japanese and Non‐Japanese Individuals

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Volume 66, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Evaluation of the pharmacokinetics (PK) of new drugs in Japanese individuals is regularly requested by the Japanese regulatory agency prior to participation in global clinical trials or for bridging approaches for regulatory approval. However, the need for PK assessments in the Japanese population may be less compelling for monoclonal ...
