Epidendrum insularis occurs on the remote Alcatrazes Island in the southeastern Brazilian coast. The description of this new cryptic species was only possible by the joint use of molecular markers, reproductive experiments, flower morphometry, functional traits, and community analysis.

Phenotypic plasticity is broadly adaptive across an elevation gradient in the Cutleaf Monkeyflower
Leaf shape plasticity expression is variable in Mimulus laciniatus. Summary Phenotypic plasticity is a key mechanism by which organisms cope with environmental heterogeneity, but its evolutionary consequences depend on how plastic responses align with the broader adaptive landscape.

Meloidogyne incognita impairs eggplant growth through gall formation with changes in root cell wall components and vascular tissue disruption, while the biocontrol agent Purpureocillium lilacinum mitigates these effects by reducing nematode infection. Abstract Meloidogyne spp. induce structural changes during the development of root‐knot galls, leading

In the southern Andes, Nothofagus pumilio shows elevational decreases in the concentrations of carbon reserves which are the food of bark‐associated yeasts, suggesting that competition for carbohydrates between tree growth and bark‐associated yeasts may cause carbon shortages.

Abstract Introduction Grassy wetlands of the Cerrado provide key ecosystem services but remain largely overlooked and are rapidly disappearing, threatened by land use change and climate‐driven changes in hydrological cycles. As restoration initiatives are urgent, reference ecosystems and robust indicators are essential to guide conservation and ...

Freshwater Biodiversity Research in Brazil: Trends from a Systematic Review and Topic Modeling
ABSTRACT Brazil is a megadiverse country that hosts six major biomes and a vast freshwater network. Despite this richness, research on freshwater biodiversity has been heterogeneous across regions, communities, and time, leaving significant knowledge gaps.

Organization of Astrocytic GLT‐1 at Cortical Inhibitory Synapses
GLT‐1+ ALs frequently juxtapose symmetric synapses. Distance‐based phenotyping identifies symmetric‐ and asymmetric‐associated GLT‐1+ ALs. Distal inhibitory synapses show enriched GLT‐1/α2 couples in ALs within 1000 nm, conserved in human cortex. ABSTRACT Glutamate spillover from excitatory synapses modulates neighboring inhibitory synapses, yet the ...

ABSTRACT The Chalcididae comprises parasitoid wasps that attack various invertebrate groups. Within the family, some Brachymeria species specialises in infecting pupae of Lepidoptera. Here, we quantitatively describe the relationship between Brachymeria pandora and the Southern Monarch butterfly, Danaus erippus, in urban areas of Cuiabá, Mato Grosso ...

How Do Professionals Portray Adolescents' Resilience in Residential Care? A Qualitative Study
ABSTRACT Adolescents in residential care may achieve positive outcomes despite previous adverse experiences. However, literature focuses more on negative outcomes than resilience. Supportive relationships between professionals and adolescents in residential care are key to ensuring resilience in adolescents.
