Electronic musical instrument adapted to simulate a rubbed string instrument
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1995The electronic musical instrument, which is suitable for generating sustaining tone of a rubbed string instrument, has a manipulator for achieving performance manipulation in a linear manipulation region or in a plane manipulation region to simulate the motion of a bow of the rubbed string instrument, and a processing circuit for applying smoothing ...

Adapting the Instrument Element to Support a Remote Instrumentation Infrastructure
2010GRIDCC was a project funded by the European Commission with the goal to extend the grid by integrating instruments and sensors with traditional computing and storage resources. This chapter describes how the GRIDCC’s instrument element concepts have been implemented to support the challenging requirements of the DORII project and of a usable remote ...

Instrumentation adaptation for quantitative fluorescein angiograms
Acta Ophthalmologica Scandinavica, 2007Abstract Purpose: To obtain quantitative fluorescein angiograms that are independent of instrument setup and operator influence. Methods: Sets of five standard fluorescein solutions were developed to mimic the environmental conditions of the plasma and vitreous compartments.

Intervention Planning using Adaptive Behavior Instruments
The Journal of Special Education, 1987Adaptive behavior is defined as those interactions of an individual with the environment that are functionally effective in that environment. Using this definition it is shown that adaptive behavior instruments that are environmentally relevant can be used effectively in intervention planning.

Adaptive deadbeat control of instrument servos
Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control, 1990An adaptive controller is presented for achieving deadbeat response in instrument servos with slowly time-varying parameters. Simulation and experimental results are presented. The controller is realised using a microcomputer. The controller is effective also when the servo contains small amounts of backlash and deadzone.

Some Prospects for Adapting Fluorescence Instrumentation
1989We can classify the information content of light which is emitted, reflected or scattered by tissue as four types: 1, direction of propagation; 2, polarization state; 3, energy (wavelength) and 4, time of detection. Unfortunately, the first two are rather quickly “scrambled” in turbid media.
