Management of Intracanal Separated Instruments

Journal of Endodontics, 2013
Intracanal separation of endodontic instruments may hinder cleaning and shaping procedures within the root canal system, with a potential impact on the outcome of treatment. The purposes of this narrative review of separated instruments were to (1) review the literature regarding treatment options, influencing factors, and complications and (2) suggest

Instrument sound separation in songs

2008 IEEE International Conference on Electro/Information Technology, 2008
This paper proposes a new solution to the audio source separation problem. The objective is to separate the original audio source signals generated by various musical instruments in one mixture. Existing approaches to solving this problem that humans easily cope with still have little success.

A selection function for pitched instrument source separation

Multimedia Systems, 2021
There exist a large number of methods for pitched instrument source separation. The core problem is to separate the time-frequency overlapping harmonics. To yield better results, we propose a function to select fine harmonic separation results from existing methods.

Separation of the Salivary and Motor Responses in Instrumental Conditioning

Science, 1964
If an instrumental conditioning schedule is arranged so that a dog must repeatedly perform a movement in response to one stimulus in order to secure the presentation of another stimulus, which is then followed by food, a virtually total separation of motor and salivary responses is observed.

Effectiveness of the GentleWave System in Removing Separated Instruments

Journal of Endodontics, 2015
A separated instrument in a root canal system has the potential of severely affecting the outcome of endodontic therapy. This study evaluated the effectiveness of the minimally invasive GentleWave System (Sonendo Inc, Laguna Hills, CA) in removing separated stainless steel endodontic files from the apical and midroot regions of molar root canals.Thirty-

Separated Endodontic Instruments

2016
The mishap of an instrument fracture is an inherent risk with endodontic treatment, which can be detrimental to the long-term success. A combination of torsional and cyclic fatigue is responsible for file fracture following excessive rotational bending or repeated torsion beyond the limits of recovery.

METHODS TO RETRIEVE SEPARATED INSTRUMENTS IN ENDODONTICS

2022
During the root canal procedure, an instrument can fracture occasionally which might block access to the apical terminus (1). The instrument may be a hand or a rotary file, Peaso reamer, Gates Glidden drill, Lentulo spiral, or some non-endodontic instruments (1,2).

An Instrument for Separation of Multiple-Unit Neuroelectric Signals

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 1971
An instrument for real-time separation of interleaved neuronal spike trains has been developed. Amplitude of the spike at two selectable time points provides the criteria for separating spikes into as many as nine different classes. The amplitude-time windows are displayed on an oscilloscope along with the spike for adjustment purposes.

Polyphonic pitch detection and instrument separation

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2005
An algorithm for polyphonic pitch detection and musical instrument separation is presented. Each instrument is represented as a time-varying harmonic series. Spectral information is obtained from a monaural input signal using a spectral peak tracking method. Fundamental frequencies (F0s) for each time frame are estimated from the spectral data using an
