Composite instrumentation amplifier for biopotentials

Annals of Biomedical Engineering, 1990
We present the design of an instrumentation biopotential amplifier that, (a) combines the ac coupling and high input impedance of an ac-coupled buffer with the CMRR of a simple differential amplifier or a monolithic instrumentation amplifier, (b) improves the CMRR by using a potentiometer without requiring either precision resistors or high-CMRR op ...

Instrumentation amplifiers using operational transconductance amplifiers

International Journal of Electronics, 1991
Instrumentation amplifier circuits using operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) as active circuit elements are proposed in this paper. Two new instrumentation amplifier circuits have been described and experimentally verified, where the first circuit comprises four OTAs and five resistors and the second circuit comprises two OTAs and three ...

AC instrumentation amplifier for bioimpedance measurements

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 1993
We analyze the input impedance and CMRR requirements for an amplifier for bioimpedance measurements when considering the capacitive components of the electrode-skin contact impedance. We describe an ac-coupled instrumentation amplifier (IA) that, in addition to fulfilling those requirements, both provides interference and noise reduction, and yields a ...

Multichannel instrument amplifier

Measurement Techniques, 1962
The design of multichannel devices with a common intermediate amplifier provides a reduced measurement error and a considerable reduction in the amplifying elements, which in turn raises the reliability of the device and reduces its size and weight.

Ultra low-power electronically tunable current-mode instrumentation amplifier for biomedical applications

, 2020
In this paper, a new current-mode instrumentation amplifier with electronic tuning and low-voltage operation capabilities is presented. Simplicity is other important feature so that the whole circuit is composed of only 20 transistors. All the above have

A 1 V instrumentation amplifier

42nd Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.99CH36356), 2003
This paper describes the design and the implementation of a 1 V instrumentation amplifier in a 1.2 /spl mu/m CMOS process with V/sub TN/=0.6 V and V/sub TP//spl ap/-0.8 V. The instrumentation amplifier has a peak-to-peak output signal swing of /spl plusmn/350 mV. It uses two 1 V opamps and a Norton amplifier.

POWER AMPLIFIERS OF PNEUMATIC ANALOG INSTRUMENTS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1980
Abstract The following paper contains the classification of the pneumatic power amplifiers in the respect of the principles of the construction and opperation as well as their applications. Theoretical analysis deals with the influence of metrological parameters of power amplifiers on the features of measurement and control instruments.

Principles of Instrumentation Amplifiers

2018
This chapter is dedicated to the general principles of the Instrumentation Amplifier, a particular type of differential amplifier hereafter called IA. Its basic applications are reviewed. The definitions of Common-Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) as the most important property of IAs are discussed. It is shown that the CMRR definition is different in single

Enhanced Programmable Instrumentation Amplifier

IEEE Sensors, 2005., 2006
This paper presents an instrumentation amplifier designed to calibrate sensors. As well as providing digitally programmable gain and offset, this chip offers additional features which would normally need external circuitry: low-pass filtering, output voltage clamping, input fault detection, EMI ...
