Toward Industrial Application of Cyanobacterial Biosorption: Insights From Real Electroplating Effluents

open access: yesWater Environment Research, Volume 98, Issue 4, April 2026.
The study demonstrates that exopolysaccharide‐producing cyanobacteria are effective biosorbents for metals contained in electroplating wastewater. Ni uptake (2.3–2.9 mmol/g) was higher than for precious metals such as palladium (Pd) and gold (Au) (lower than 0.1 mmol/g). D. salina 16Som2 and Cyanothece sp. CE 4 showed the best performances.

Intestinal Ultrasound Transmural Healing Was Associated With Improved Long‐Term Outcomes Among Patients With Endoscopic Remission: Results of a Prospective Study

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 63, Issue 7, Page 992-999, April 2026.
This a prospective study showing the benefit of intestinal ultrasound transmural healing on long term outcome among patient with partial and complete endoscopic healing in Crohn's disease. ABSTRACT Background STRIDE II guidelines recognise endoscopic healing as a main therapeutic target in Crohn's disease (CD).

Cardiovascular, respiratory and splenic responses to rebreathing and apnoea during exercise

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 4, Page 1971-1987, 1 April 2026.
Abstract We investigated integrative physiological responses to eupnoeic exercise (EX), rebreathing exercise (RB), dynamic apnoea (DA) and dynamic apnoea with cold‐water face immersion (DAFI) in 20 healthy participants. Trials involved non‐steady‐state cycle exercise at 60 W for an average duration of 66 s.

Oxygen and glucose supplementation increases rates of linear growth and cell proliferation in growth‐restricted fetal sheep

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 7, Page 2778-2795, 1 April 2026.
Abstract figure legend Effects of sustained oxygen and glucose supplementation on growth and cellular proliferation in growth‐restricted fetuses. This study evaluated whether supplemental oxygen and glucose could improve growth rates in sheep fetuses with established fetal growth restriction (FGR). Following the induction of placental insufficiency and
