Admission hyponatraemia as heart failure events predictor in patients with acute heart failure

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 10, Issue 5, Page 2966-2972, October 2023., 2023
Abstract Aims Heart failure remained consistent as one of the biggest cardiovascular problems in Indonesia. Hyponatraemia is a common electrolyte disorder among patients presented with heart failure; however, the prognostic value for worsening heart failure has not been well defined. Methods and results We studied 134 patients admitted with acute heart

Hyponatraemia and changes in natraemia during hospitalization for acute heart failure and associations with in‐hospital and long‐term outcomes – from the ESC‐HFA EORP Heart Failure Long‐Term Registry

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, Volume 25, Issue 9, Page 1571-1583, September 2023., 2023
In patients with acute heart failure, 20% had hyponatreamia at hospital admission, which was associated with more advanced heart failure and normalized in half of patients during hospitalization. Admission hyponatreamia (possibly dilutional), especially persisting during hospitalization, was associated with worse in‐hospital and post‐dicharge prognosis.

Prognostic significance of plasma chloride in elderly patients hospitalized for acute heart failure

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 10, Issue 4, Page 2637-2647, August 2023., 2023
Abstract Aims Previous studies demonstrated the relationship between hypochloraemia and poor prognosis in patients hospitalized for acute heart failure (AHF). However, the usefulness of chloride in clinical practice remains uncertain, notably in very old patients with predominantly heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).

Prediction of postnatal circulation in pulmonary atresia/critical stenosis with intact ventricular septum: systematic review and external validation of models

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 62, Issue 1, Page 14-22, July 2023., 2023
ABSTRACT Objective A favorable postnatal prognosis in cases of pulmonary atresia/critical stenosis with intact ventricular septum (PA/CS‐IVS) is generally equated with the possibility of achieving biventricular (BV) repair. Identification of fetuses that will have postnatal univentricular (UV) circulation is key for prenatal counseling, optimization of
