Influence of proportion of vegetable insulating oil and mineral insulating oil on thermal aging of oil-paper insulation

2013 Annual Report Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena, 2013
Vegetable insulating oil shows good performance in electric, high anti-aging ability and environmental protection. Thus it is considered as a promising substitute for mineral insulating oil. In order to the wide spread application of vegetable oil in large power transformers, this paper presents accelerated aging experiments of oil-paper insulation ...

The compatibility tests between vegetable insulating oil and mineral insulating oil

2014 ICHVE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Application, 2014
Vegetable insulating oil shows good performance in electric, high anti-aging ability and environmental protection. Thus it is considered as a promising substitute for mineral insulating oil. In order to the wide spread application of vegetable oil in large power transformers, this paper designed the compatibility tests between vegetable insulating oil ...

Phthalate Ester Insulating Oils

IEEE Transactions on Electrical Insulation, 1978
The performance and service reliability of capacitors impregnated with phthalate esters compare favorably with those observed in capacitors using polychlorinated biphenyls. The esters are combustible liquids having high flash and fire points. The fire hazards involved in their use can be minimized by incorporating effective fuses in the capacitors.

Standards and insulation characteristics of oil-insulated transformers

Electrical Engineering, 1945
THE STRENGTH of the insulation in transformers to resist various types of voltage stress is very important. The service and life of the transformer is partially dependent on the insulation strength, and in recognition of this fact standards for insulation strength long have been established. In the course of time improvements have taken place in design,
