Covered conductor burn-down prevention for distribution line in Indonesia

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Covered conductor (CC) is used to resolve temporary line to ground fault in the distribution line. However, some cases of CC burn down were found in Indonesia.

The Superconductor-Insulator Transition in a Tunable Dissipative Environment

open access: yes, 1997
We study the influence of a tunable dissipative environment on the dynamics of Josephson junction arrays near the superconductor-insulator transition. The experimental realization of the environment is a two dimensional electron gas coupled capacitively ...

Tuning the Dielectric Properties of Individual Clay Nanosheets by Interlayer Composition: Toward Nano‐Electret Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of

Ab initio study of nontrivial topological phases in corundum structured $($M$_2$O$_3)/($Al$_2$O$_3)_5$ multilayers

open access: yes, 2015
\textit{Ab initio} calculations have been performed on hexagonal layers of M$_2$O$_3$ (M being several transition metals of the $5d$ series) sandwiched by a band insulator such as Al$_2$O$_3$ that provides the honeycomb lattice where the $5d$ electrons ...

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Discharge Phenomenon of a 500 kV Double Tension Porcelain Insulator String

open access: yesZhongguo dianli
The mechanism of this phenomenon was studied with a double tension porcelain insulator strings in a 500 kV converter station. Experiments including resistance testing and cross-sectional staining were conducted, and a simulation model of double insulator

Positive‐Tone Nanolithography of Antimony Trisulfide with Femtosecond Laser Wet‐Etching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A butyldithiocarbamic acid (BDCA) etchant is used to fabricate various micro‐ and nanoscale structures on amorphous antimony trisulfide (a‐Sb2S3) thin film via femtosecond laser etching. Numerical analysis and experimental results elucidate the patterning mechanism on gold (reflective) and quartz (transmissive) substrates.

Vibration-Based Diagnostics of Non-Ceramic Insulators: Characterization of Signals

open access: yesVibration
This paper presents an experimental method for testing composite insulators based on vibration testing. The method used investigated the propagation, signal shape, and distortion of excited mechanical waves under the influence of defects.

Design of ANFIS for Hydrophobicity Classification of Polymeric Insulators with Two-Stage Feature Reduction Technique and Its Field Deployment

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Hydrophobicity of polymeric insulator plays a vital role in determining the insulation quality in outdoor overhead electrical transmission and distribution lines. Loss of hydrophobicity increases the leakage current and leads to flashover.
