[001]‐oriented Sb2Se3 film with improved crystallinity and adjusted composition is achieved via a new thermal treatment approach consisting of preliminary annealing of the Sb layer before its selenization. The findings of this work demonstrate enhanced charge carriers' transportation, a stable performance, and an improvement of H2 generation from ...

Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Nondestructive insulator testing system
An instrument has been constructed to inspect thin ribbons of electrical insulator foils for thickness and for the presence of pinholes. The measurements are accomplished by sensing the transmission of a beam of beta particles and another of ultraviolet light. Thickness variations of +- 1% can be measured for ribbons 50 to 100 ..mu..m thick.

Superconductor Insulator Transition in Long MoGe Nanowires
Properties of one-dimensional superconducting wires depend on physical processes with different characteristic lengths. To identify the process dominant in the critical regime we have studied trans- port properties of very narrow (9-20 nm) MoGe wires ...

Integrated photonic circuit in silicon on insulator for fourier domain optical coherence tomography [PDF]
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a medical imaging technology capable of producing high-resolution, cross-sectional images through inhomogeneous samples, such as biological tissue. It has been widely adopted in clinical ophthalmology and a number of

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

\textit{Ab initio} calculations have been performed on hexagonal layers of M$_2$O$_3$ (M being several transition metals of the $5d$ series) sandwiched by a band insulator such as Al$_2$O$_3$ that provides the honeycomb lattice where the $5d$ electrons ...

For the first time, a highly sensitive electrochemical biosensor based on SiO2‐based hairy particles with a grafted PDMAEMA polymer brush containing a quantifiable and large amount of immobilized Laccase is reported. The fabricated biosensor exhibits a sensitivity of 0.14 A·m⁻¹, a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.1 µm, and a detection range of 0.3–750 µm,

The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of
