This Chapter intends to acquaint the reader with the fundamental principles of the laws of marine insurance as contained in the Marine Insurance Act, 1906 (MIA 1906) and Marine Insurance Act, 1963 (MIA 1963) like the nature of marine insurance contract, the notion of insurable interest, the doctrine of utmost good faith, and implied warranties.
