Abstract This study aims to investigate the effects of the position correction of size‐specific dose estimates (SSDE) on patient dose estimation in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). The relationship between the phantom position and absorbed dose in the right breast was studied using optically stimulated luminescence dosimeters and a simulated human

Harmonizing results of ataxia rating scales: mFARS, SARA, and ICARS
Abstract The ever‐increasing body of ataxia research provides opportunities for large‐scale meta‐analyses, systematic reviews, and data aggregation. Because multiple standardized scales are used to quantify ataxia severity, harmonization of these measures is necessary for quantitative data pooling. We applied the modified Friedreich Ataxia Rating Scale

Performance analysis of control allocation using data‐driven integral quadratic constraints
Abstract A new method is presented for evaluating the performance of a nonlinear control allocation system within a linear control loop. To that end, a worst‐case gain analysis problem is formulated that can be readily solved by means of well‐established methods from robustness analysis using integral quadratic constraints (IQCs).

A Variational Beam Model for Failure of Cellular and Truss‐Based Architected Materials
Herein, a versatile and efficient beam modeling framework is developed to predict the nonlinear response and failure of cellular, truss‐based, and woven architected materials. It enables the exploration of their design space and the optimization of their mechanical behavior in the nonlinear regime. A variational formulation of a beam model is presented

A numerical scheme is presented to design a lattice support for metallic components additively built via laser powder bed fusion. Results show that thermal‐induced distortion can be respectively reduced by 69%, 58%, and 50% in comparison to a uniform lattice, a fully solid support, and a truss‐based lattice support.

Sensing small biomolecules in biofluids using host-guest chemosensors remains challenging, in part due to the impact of interfering components. Here, the authors develop a dual-macrocyclic rotaxane for tryptophan detection which can function in biofluids

Soft prime and semiprime int-ideals of a ring
In this paper, some properties of soft radical of a soft int-ideal have been developed and soft prime int-ideal, soft semiprime int-ideal of a ring are defined. Several characterizations of soft prime (soft semiprime) int-ideals are investigated. Also it

A high resolution spatiotemporal model for in-vehicle black carbon exposure : quantifying the in-vehicle exposure reduction due to the Euro 5 particulate matter standard legislation [PDF]
Several studies have shown that a significant amount of daily air pollution exposure is inhaled during trips. In this study, car drivers assessed their own black carbon exposure under real-life conditions (223 h of data from 2013).
