Local Polynomial Regression and Filtering for a Versatile Mesh‐Free PDE Solver
A high‐order, mesh‐free finite difference method for solving differential equations is presented. Both derivative approximation and scheme stabilisation is carried out by parametric or non‐parametric local polynomial regression, making the resulting numerical method accurate, simple and versatile. Numerous numerical benchmark tests are investigated for

Intraday Functional PCA Forecasting of Cryptocurrency Returns
ABSTRACT We study the functional PCA (FPCA) forecasting method in application to functions of intraday returns on Bitcoin. We show that improved interval forecasts of future return functions are obtained when the conditional heteroscedasticity of return functions is taken into account.

Polynominals related to powers of the Dedekind eta function
The vanishing properties of Fourier coefficients of integral powers of the Dedekind eta function correspond to the existence of integral roots of integer-valued polynomials Pn(x) introduced by M. Newman.

Combinatorial Nullstellensatz modulo prime powers and the Parity Argument [PDF]
We present new generalizations of Olson's theorem and of a consequence of Alon's Combinatorial Nullstellensatz. These enable us to extend some of their combinatorial applications with conditions modulo primes to conditions modulo prime powers. We analyze

Another Prüfer Ring of Integer-Valued Polynomials
Let \(D\) be an integral domain with quotient field \(K\) and let \(\text{ Int}(D) = \{f \in K [x] \mid f(D) \subseteq D\}\). If \(D\) is Dedekind and all its residue fields are finite then \(\text{ Int}(D)\) is Prüfer while if \(\text{ Int}(D)\) is Prüfer then \(D\) is almost Dedekind (i.e.

Motive and Opportunity: Order Choice in a Limit Order Book With Dispersed Information
ABSTRACT We test predictions of market microstructure theory relating to the determinants of order choice in a limit order book where information is dispersed among traders. Using an experimental limit order book, with a large state space, we find that informed traders exhibit patience, compatible with the ‘waiting game’ behaviour described in Foster ...

AbstractBackgroundWe aimed to assess the prevalence of food insecurity reported by children and young people in four areas of England in 2023 and examine its association with mental health and wellbeing.MethodsWe used data from the OxWell student survey, a large, diverse, cross‐sectional study of 38,430 students aged 8–19 years, conducted primarily in ...

Another Proof of the Generalized Tutte—Berge Formula for f $f$‐Bounded Subgraphs
ABSTRACT Given a nonnegative integer weight f ( v ) $f(v)$ for each vertex v $v$ in a multigraph G $G$, an f $f$‐bounded subgraph of G $G$ is a multigraph H $H$ contained in G $G$ such that d H ( v ) ≤ f ( v ) ${d}_{H}(v)\le f(v)$ for all v ∈ V ( G ) $v\in V(G)$.
