AbstractInteger‐valued time series data appear in several diverse applications. However, modeling and inference for these types of dependent data pose several questions and interesting problems. The method of generalized linear models turns out to provide a sound framework for modeling and estimation whereby all computations are carried out by well ...

Point processes and integer-valued time series
2023This thesis explores two primary themes across five scientific papers: Integer-value time series and their relationship with classical point processes. The first part of the thesis focuses on the development and application of Integer-valued autoregressive (INAR) models, extending from univariate to multivariate cases, with applications in financial ...

On the application of integer-valued time series models for the analysis of disease incidence
Statistics in Medicine, 1999Statistical time series models are practical tools in public health surveillance. Their capacity to forecast future disease incidence values exemplifies their usefulness. Using these forecasts, one can develop strategies to trigger alerts to public health officials when irregular disease incidence values have occurred.
