Flexible Train Composition Mode–Based Rolling Stock Circulation Planning Problem for Regional Rapid Rail Transit

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation
Regional rapid rail transit is an emerging rail transit system in China in recent years, with the same level of service frequency and longer station spacing as metro.

A Scalable Framework for Comprehensive Typing of Polymorphic Immune Genes from Long‐Read Data

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SpecImmune introduces a unified computational framework optimized for long‐read sequencing to resolve over 400 highly polymorphic immune genes. This scalable approach achieves high‐resolution typing, enabling the discovery of cross‐family co‐evolutionary networks and population‐specific diversity.

Bottom Up Quotients and Residuals for Tree Languages

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we extend the notion of tree language quotients to bottom-up quotients. Instead of computing the residual of a tree language from top to bottom and producing a list of tree languages, we show how to compute a set of k-ary trees, where k is

Tunable Sound Absorption via Evanescent‐Wave Coupling in Asymmetric Bilayer Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tunable sound absorption is realized through a bilayer metasurface system governed by evanescent‐wave coupling. This work demonstrates that such evanescent‐wave coupling provides a controllable scattering channel that destructively interferes with the specular reflection.

CAMD for Entrainer Screening of Extractive Distillation Process Based on New Thermodynamic Criteria

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2018
This paper presents a framework for finding homogeneous entrainers E to separate non-ideal mixtures AB by extractive distillation. The framework is a systematic approach to convert a Computer Aided Molecular Design into a mixed integer non-linear program

Transient Terahertz Oscillations During Photoinduced Polarization Topology Reconfiguration in Ferroelectric Superlattices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Terahertz resonances in crystalline heterostructures could close a spectral gap between conventional electronics and photonics while opening new windows on non‐equilibrium lattice dynamics. Femtosecond optical screening of the depolarization field in epitaxial PbTiO3/SrTiO3 superlattices launches a collective polar mode that oscillates near 1 THz and ...

Physics‐Embedded Neural Network: A Novel Approach to Design Polymeric Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Traditional black‐box models for polymer mechanics rely solely on data and lack physical interpretability. This work presents a physics‐embedded neural network (PENN) that integrates constitutive equations into machine learning. The approach ensures reliable stress predictions, provides interpretable parameters, and enables performance‐driven, inverse ...

Outstanding 1200 °C Oxidation Resistance in a Novel Multi‐Principal Element Alloy via Lattice Distortion‐Induced Diffusion Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The unique lamellar structure of the eutectic alloy promotes selective oxidation of Al initially, while lattice distortion‐induced diffusion suppression slows oxide growth during steady state. Combining these strategies, a Multi‐Principal Element Alloy with excellent oxidation resistance at 1200℃ was designed.

Ecological Stoichiometry: A Link Between Developmental Speed and Physiological Stress in an Omnivorous Insect

open access: yesFrontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience, 2019
The elemental composition of organisms belongs to a suite of functional traits that may adaptively respond to fluctuating selection pressures. Life history theory predicts that predation risk and resource limitations impose selection pressures on ...

Enumeration of 3-letter patterns in compositions

open access: yes, 2006
Let A be any set of positive integers and n a positive integer. A composition of n with parts in A is an ordered collection of one or more elements in A whose sum is n.
