How to Manufacture Photonic Metamaterials
Metamaterials boast applications such as invisibility and “hyperlenses” with resolution beyond the diffraction limit, but these applications haven’t been exploited in earnest and the market for them hasn’t grown much likely because facile and economical methods for fabricating them without defect has not emerged.

A rigorous time bound for factoring integers [PDF]
In this paper a probabilistic algorithm is exhibited that factors any positive integernninto prime factors in expected time at mostLn[12,1+o(1)]{L_n}[\tfrac {1}{2},1 + o(1)]forn→∞n \to \infty, whereLx[a,b]=exp(b(logx)a(loglogx)1−a){L_x}[a,b] = {\text {exp}}(b{(\log x)^a}{({\text {log}}\log x)^{1 - a}}).

Fiber Bragg Gratings with Micro‐Engineered Temperature Coefficients
Fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) are intrinsically responsive to temperature and strain simultaneously. In this research, low‐loss FBGs with micro‐engineered temperature coefficients are fabricated, utilizing refractive index liquid‐filled microchannels in the cladding.

Omni‐polarizers that pull all input polarization states to an elliptical or linear polarization can be made using highly resonant bi‐layer metasurfaces. The ellipticity of the selected polarization can be controlled by choosing the layer separation.

Solvability of certain exponential Lebesgue-Nagell equations 𝑥 2 + 𝑝 𝑚 = 𝑦 [PDF]
In this article, we first investigate the exponential Lebesgue-Nagell equation as shown in the title. Eventually, we can establish a necessary and sufficient criterion for having an integer solution to such an equation under the conditions that 𝑝 ≡ 3 ...

A Trade‐Off between Pulse Energy and Stability in Seeded Free‐Electron Lasers
Seeded free‐electron lasers (FELs) require balancing competing factors for optimal performance. This work analyzes how dispersion strength influences output in high‐gain harmonic generation. Results reveal a trade‐off: maximizing pulse energy often comes at the cost of reduced stability and vice versa.

Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm for Integer Factorization Problem (IFP)
This paper presents particle swarm optimization (PSO) method to find the prime factors of a composite number. Integer factorization is a well known NP hard problem and security of many cryptosystem is based on difficulty of integer factorization.
