Learning Crystallographic Disorder: Bridging Prediction and Experiment in Materials Discovery
Machine learning based computational materials discovery workflows have recently proposed thousands of potentially stable crystalline materials. However, the experimental realization of these predictions is often challenging because the models assume perfectly ordered structures.

Factoring Integers with Elliptic Curves
Summary: This paper is devoted to the description and analysis of a new algorithm to factor positive integers. It depends on the use of elliptic curves. The new method is obtained from \textit{J. M. Pollard}'s \(p-1\)-method [Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 76, 521--528 (1974; Zbl 0294.10005)] by replacing the multiplicative group by the group of points on a ...

C16 Phase High Entropy Borides With High Magnetic Anisotropy
Rare‐earth‐free C16‐phase high entropy boride thin films exhibit enhanced magnetic anisotropy with coercivities surpassing their binary and ternary counterparts. Combinatorial synthesis of (Fe‐Co‐Ni‐Mn)2B films combined with density functional theory enables mapping of the magnetic properties across the composition space, revealing high entropy ...

Fiber Bragg Gratings with Micro‐Engineered Temperature Coefficients
Fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) are intrinsically responsive to temperature and strain simultaneously. In this research, low‐loss FBGs with micro‐engineered temperature coefficients are fabricated, utilizing refractive index liquid‐filled microchannels in the cladding.

Localized factorizations of integers [PDF]
34 pages. Added reference [10] to a paper of Nair and Tenenbaum which contains a result similar to Lemma 2.2 and which appeared prior to the publication of this paper. Simplified the proof of Lemma 2.2 using ideas from [10]. Removed part (a) of Lemma 2.2, as it is now redundant.

Ultra‐Durable Information‐Encoded Anti‐Counterfeiting Self‐Assembled Nanocrystal Labels
Ultra‐durable cost‐effective information‐encoded anti‐counterfeiting labels are fabricated to secure semiconductor chips. A novel method is used to self‐assemble colloidal quantum wells (CQWs) into color bars. Information can be encoded spatially, spectrally, and opto‐spatially.
