Second Order Integrability Conditions for Difference Equations: An Integrable Equation [PDF]

open access: yesLetters in Mathematical Physics, 2013
Integrability conditions for difference equations admitting a second order formal recursion operator are presented and the derivation of symmetries and canonical conservation laws is discussed. In the generic case, nonlocal conservation laws are also generated.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Some results on the integrability of Einstein's field equations for axistationary perfect fluids

open access: yes, 2001
Using an orthonormal Lorentz frame approach to axistationary perfect fluid spacetimes, we have formulated the necessary and sufficient equations as a first order system, and investigated the integrability conditions of this set of equations.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Boundary driven turbulence on string worldsheet

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We study the origin of turbulence on the string worldsheet with boundaries laid in anti de Sitter (AdS) spacetime. While the classical motion of a single closed string in AdS is integrable, it has recently been recognized that weak turbulence arises in ...

Stochastic Integrals and Conditional Full Support [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Probability, 2010
We present conditions that imply the conditional full support (CFS) property, introduced in Guasoni, Rásonyi and Schachermayer (2008), for processes Z := H + ∫K dW, where W is a Brownian motion, H is a continuous process, and processes H and K are either progressive or independent of W.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

One-dimensional ultracold atomic gases: Impact of the effective range on integrability

open access: yes, 2016
Three identical bosons or fermions are considered in the limit of zero-range interactions and finite effective range. By using a two channel model, we show that these systems are not integrable and that the wave function verifies specific continuity ...
