A Hierarchy of Linking Integrals

1992
Since the days of Maxwell and Tait, it has been known that the Gauss linking integral fails to detect entanglements with equal numbers of oppositely signed crossings, such as the Borromean rings. As the helicity or Gauss integral is quadratic in the fluxes or vortex strengths, it measures second order linking.

Integrable couplings of the hierarchies of evolution equations☆

Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2003
The new loop algebra was constructed in terms of the loop algebra \(\overline A_1\). As a result the authors' obtained integrable couplings of the KN hierarchy, GJ hierarchy; WKI hierarchy, etc. Therefore the method proposed in this paper has wide uses for seeing integrable couplings.

Merging inheritance hierarchies for database integration

Proceedings 3rd IFCIS International Conference on Cooperative Information Systems (Cat No 98EX122) COOPIS-98, 1998
Merging inheritance hierarchies with overlapping class extensions and types is an essential task in database design. In the context of view integration and schema integration for federated databases and multidatabases conflicting inheritance hierarchies have to be merged.

INTEGRABLE HIERARCHIES FROM BRST COHOMOLOGY

Modern Physics Letters A, 2005
We demonstrate that the Hamiltonian structure and the integrability of a system of evolution equations can be formulated in terms of a classical field theory using BRST and anti-BRST symmetries. We derive the field theory action and explicitly generate the integrable hierarchy associated to a bi-Hamiltonian system based on cohomological arguments and ...

NEW INTEGRABLE LATTICE HIERARCHY AND ITS INTEGRABLE COUPLING

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2009
New hierarchy of Liouville integrable lattice equation and their Hamiltonian structure are generated by use of the Tu model. Then, integrable couplings of the obtained system is worked out by the extending spectral problem.

Hospital management: Integrating the dual hierarchy?

The International Journal of Health Planning and Management, 1991
AbstractTraditionally, hospitals are seen as dual hierarchies: in addition to the formal administrative pyramid, the professional medical system forms a second line of authority. Equally traditional, this poses substantial problems for hospital management. The present study reported in this article took place as part of a larger research project on ...

Integrability Criterion of Geodesical Equivalence. Hierarchies

Acta Applicandae Mathematica, 1999
The subject of geodesically equivalent Riemannian metrics, i.e., metrics with the same geodesic lines, has a long history, beginning with \textit{U. Dini} [Brioschi Ann. (2) III, 269-294 (1870; JFM 02.0622.02)]. Because Riemannian metrics are produced by Hamiltonians in a straightforward manner, it results that the implications of geometry of such ...

Seamless Integration of Parallelism and Memory Hierarchy

2002
We prove an analogue of Brent's lemma for BSP-like parallel machines featuring a hierarchical structure for both the interconnection and the memory. Specifically, for these machines we present a uniform scheme to simulate any computation designed for v processors on a v?-processor configuration with v? ? v and the same overall memory size.

From Hierarchy to Integration: The ‘Hierarchy of Intervention Effectiveness’ to the ‘Framework for Effective Integration and Adoption’

Journal of Critical Care & Emergency Medicine
At work and in organizations, hierarchy often does not apply equally. Education and training is never a “one-size-fit-all”. The boundaries between systemsfocused and people-focused interventions are becoming increasingly blurred today. The Hierarchy of Intervention Effectiveness (HIE) popularized by Lucian Leape and illustrated by Cassie McDaniel ...
