Spin Hall Nano‐Antenna

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The spin Hall effect is a well‐known phenomenon in spintronics that has found numerous applications in digital electronics (memory and logic), but relatively few in analog electronics. Practically the only analog application in widespread use is the spin Hall nano‐oscillator (SHNO) that delivers a high frequency alternating current or voltage ...

An investigation on the effect of cyclic displacement on the integral bridge abutment

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2014
The integral bridge abutment, as a special type of retaining wall, is subject to cyclic displacement, which is due to the daily and seasonal temperature variations. The frame of this type of bridges is rigid and jointless.

Neuronal Integration in an Abutting-Retinas Culture System

open access: yesInvestigative Opthalmology & Visual Science, 2003
Limited integration is consistently observed between subretinal transplants and host retinas. In the current study, an in vitro model system for studying connections forming between two abutting retinas was developed.Neuroretinas were dissected from normal wild-type (WT) mice and green fluorescent protein (GFP) transgenic mice (obtained at postnatal ...

An Implanted Tooth That Can Feel

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To endow the implanted tooth with masticatory perception, herein we demonstrate that a 3D‐printed piezoelectric‐core/robust‐sheath implanted tooth can rebuild the sensing feedback, serving as “mechanoreceptors” in converting the mechanical chewing force to electrical signals, and up to brain through surrounding alveolar nerve system.

Seismic Performance of Various Piles Considering Soil–Pile Interaction under Lateral Cycle Loads for Integral Abutment Jointless Bridges (IAJBs)

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The flexural pile foundation is used in integral abutment jointless bridges (IAJBs) in practical engineering to effectively dissipate the horizontal reciprocating deformation induced by the ambient temperature or earthquake loadings.

Description of the skull, braincase, and dentition of Moschognathus whaitsi (Dinocephalia, Tapinocephalia), and its palaeobiological and behavioral implications

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract A subadult Moschognathus whaitsi from the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa, was scanned using synchrotron radiation X‐ray computed tomography (SRXCT). Its subadult state allowed the cranial bones and teeth to be identified and individually reconstructed in 3D.

Failure mechanism and divisional differentiated control of surrounding rock in mining roadway under remaining coal pillar in close‐distance coal seam

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2023
Regarding the issue of intense mining pressure appearing in the underlying gateway below the remaining coal pillar in the close‐distance coal seam (the remaining coal pillar is perpendicular to the underlying section coal pillar), 401 working face is ...

Osseo integrated finger prosthesis with a custom abutment

open access: yesThe Journal of Indian Prosthodontic Society, 2017
One of the most regularly encountered forms of partial hand loss causing physical, psychosocial and financial burden to an individual is the finger amputation followed by trauma. The prosthetic rehabilitation of amputated finger is a good treatment option, when compared to all other means of complex and unaffordable options.

3D anatomical atlas of the heads of male and female adult Chamaeleo calyptratus

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
The veiled chameleon is a model organism in reptile development research. Utilizing contrast‐enhanced microCT and deep learning segmentation models, we have generated the first digital atlases of the skull, nervous system, cranial muscles and hyolingual muscles.
