On the solution of integral equations with a generalized cauchy kernal [PDF]

open access: yes
A certain class of singular integral equations that may arise from the mixed boundary value problems in nonhonogeneous materials is considered. The distinguishing feature of these equations is that in addition to the Cauchy singularity, the kernels ...

Numerical Modeling of Tank Cars Carrying Hazardous Materials With and Without Composite Metal Foam

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Large‐scale puncture models consisting of hazardous materials (HAZMATs) tank car with protective steel–steel composite metal foam (S–S CMF) are solved numerically. Tank car plate with added 10.91–13.33 mm thick S–S CMF layer does not puncture. Protective S–S CMF absorbs impact energy, reduces plate deformation, and prevents shear bands formation ...

Interrelation of Rheologic and Surfactant Properties of Blood Serum in Patients with Psoriasis and Arthritis

open access: yesBolʹ, Sustavy, Pozvonočnik, 2015
Changes in the rheological properties of the blood in patients with psoriasis is manifested by increased performance of the surface elasticity, bulk viscosity and integral angular viscoelasticity on the background of reduced angulation of tensiorheogram,

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Translational and extensional energy release rates (the J- and M-integrals) for a crack layer in thermoelasticity [PDF]

open access: yes
A number of papers have been presented on the evaluation of energy release rate for thermoelasticity and corresponding J integral. Two main approaches were developed to treat energy release rate in elasticity.

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Influence of Surface Energy Effects on Elastic Fields of a Layered Elastic Medium under Surface Loading

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
This paper presents the analysis of a layered elastic half space under the action of axisymmetric surface loading and the influence of the surface energy effects.

Testing the Box-Cox Parameter for an Integrated Process [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper analyses the constant elasticity of volatility (CEV) model suggested by Chan et al. (1992). The CEV model without mean reversion is shown to be the inverse Box-Cox transformation of integrated processes asymptotically.

Numerical Exploration of Thermal Shock Resistance in MgO–C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A mesostructure‐resolved numerical framework is developed to evaluate the thermal shock resistance of MgO–C refractories. By modeling interface debonding under rapid temperature changes and introducing a modified thermal shock parameter that accounts for mesocracks, the study shows how graphite content and aggregate size influence thermal shock ...
