An integral equation of elasticity

Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 1985
AbstractIn this work a certain mixed problem in R for the Lamé equations in the theory of elasticity is reduced to the integral equationmagnified imageAn explicit formula for the solutions is given for either Ω = {x:x2 > 0} or Ω = {x:∥x∥<r}. The question of smoothness of the solutions is also discused.

Integrated magnetic and elastic force systems

American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 2002
Magnetic force increases as the distance (d) of the force- generating elements (F approximately 1/d(2)) decreases, whereas elastic force decreases as the distance decreases (F approximately kd). These opposing characteristics suggest that combining both force systems will establish an integrated system with a long-range working ability.

On conservation integrals in micropolar elasticity

Philosophical Magazine, 2003
Two conservation laws of nonlinear micropolar elasticity (Jk = 0 and Lk = 0) are derived within the framework of the Noether theorem on invariant variational principles, thereby extending the earlier authors' results from the couple stress elasticity. Two non-conserved M-type integrals of linear micropolar elasticity are then derived and their values ...

Integral Equation Methods in Elasticity

Nature, 1963
A NEW method for solving two-dimensional elasticity problems has recently been suggested by N. Louat1. It is perhaps worth pointing out that his method falls within the scope of a very general approach to elasticity, which can be briefly described as follows.

A CONTOUR INTEGRAL FORMULATION OF PLANE ELASTICITY

The Quarterly Journal of Mechanics and Applied Mathematics, 1985
A contour-integral relation is derived for plane linear elastostatics. This relation allows the development of a new boundary-integral formulation that has several advantages. Foremost of the advantages is the exclusive use of fields that are everywhere bounded.

Some Applications of Integrated Elasticity

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2005
This paper examines the effects of relaxing the assumption of classical linear elasticity that the loads act in their entirety on the undeformed shape. Instead, loads here are applied incrementally as deformation proceeds, and resulting fields are integrated. A formal statement of the attendant integrated elasticity theory is provided.

Humanoid arm with the integrated serial elastic actuator

2014 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics (ROBIO 2014), 2014
This paper proposes the design and development of an integrated serial elastic actuator (SEA) which is used as the elbow joint in the soft humanoid arm. First, requirements of SEA are illustrated. And six different types of elastic elements (e.g. the discoid element, the cylindrical) are analyzed using the design of experiment (DOE) method. And then, a
