A Suggestion for Modification of Vafa-Witten Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Using the Mathai-Quillen formalism we reexamine the twisted N=4 supersymmetric model of Vafa-Witten theory. Smooth out the relation between the supersymmetric action and the path integral representation of the Thom class.Comment: Latex, 23kb, no ...

Unveiling Phonon Contributions to Thermal Conductivity and the Applicability of the Wiedemann—Franz Law in Ruthenium and Tungsten Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal transport in Ru and W thin films is studied using steady‐state thermoreflectance, ultrafast pump–probe spectroscopy, infrared‐visible spectroscopy, and computations. Significant Lorenz number deviations reveal strong phonon contributions, reaching 45% in Ru and 62% in W.

Observers seeing gravitational Hilbert spaces: abstract sources for an abstract path integral

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The gravitational path integral suggests a striking result: the Hilbert space of closed universes in each superselection sector, a so-called α-sector, is one-dimensional.

Stochastic Tunneling in de Sitter Spacetime

open access: yesUniverse
Tunneling processes in de Sitter spacetime are studied by using the stochastic approach. We evaluate the Martin–Siggia–Rose–Janssen–de Dominicis (MSRJD) functional integral by using the saddle-point approximation to obtain the tunneling rate.

Effective Action in a General Chiral Model: Next to Leading Order Derivative Expansion in the Worldline Method

open access: yes, 2008
We present a formalism to determine the imaginary part of a general chiral model in the derivative expansion. Our formalism is based on the worldline path integral for the covariant current that can be given in an explicit chiral and gauge covariant form.

Coordinate-invariant Path Integral Methods in Conformal Field Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present a coordinate-invariant approach, based on a Pauli-Villars measure, to the definition of the path integral in two-dimensional conformal field theory. We discuss some advantages of this approach compared to the operator formalism and alternative

Fermi Surface Nesting and Anomalous Hall Effect in Magnetically Frustrated Mn2PdIn

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mn2PdIn, a frustrated inverse Heusler alloy, showing electronic‐structure driven anomalous Hall effect with Weyl crossings, Fermi‐surface nesting and near‐zero magnetization ideal for low‐magnetization spintronics. Abstract Noncollinear magnets with near‐zero net magnetization and nontrivial bulk electronic topology hold significant promise for ...

T T ¯ $$ \overline{T} $$ -flow effects on torus partition functions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
In this paper, we investigate the partition functions of conformal field theories (CFTs) with the T T ¯ $$ \overline{T} $$ deformation on a torus in terms of the perturbative QFT approach.

Hamiltonian Formalism for Space-time Non-commutative Theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Space-time non-commutative theories are non-local in time. We develop the Hamiltonian formalism for non-local field theories in d space-time dimensions by considering auxiliary d+1 dimensional field theories which are local with respect to the evolution ...

Magnetic and Structural Response Tuned by Coexisting Mn Concentration‐Dependent Phases in MnBi2Te4 Thin Film Grown on GaAs(001) by Molecular Beam Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study explores structural and magnetic properties of one of the most recent topological quantum materials (MnBi2Te4). The Mn‐poor structure leads to stacking faults (quintuple layer ‐ QL of Bi2Te3 formation instead of a septuple layer ‐ SL of MnBi2Te4), resulting in a coexistence between weak antiferromagnetism and ferromagnetism.
