Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Integrating Completely Unisolvent Functions

open access: yesJournal of Approximation Theory, 1995
\(f:\mathbb{R}^n\times I\to\mathbb{R}\) is a continuous function and \(\text{INT}(f)\) is the set of all functions \(x\mapsto f(a_1, \dots, a_n,x)\) from \(\mathbb{R}\) to \(\mathbb{R}\). A function \(g\in \text{INT} (f)\) interpolates \(m\) points \((x_i,y_i)\in I\times R\), \(i=1,2, \dots,m\) if \(g(x_i)=y_i\) for all \(i\). The function \(f\) is \(n\

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Does a Functional Integral Really Need a Lagrangian?

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2010
Path integral formulation of quantum mechanics (and also other equivalent formulations) depends on a Lagrangian and/or Hamiltonian function that is chosen to describe the underlying classical system.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Existence of solutions of an integral equation of Chandrasekhar type in the theory of radiative transfer

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2006
We give an existence theorem for some functional-integral equations which includes many key integral and functional equations that arise in nonlinear analysis and its applications.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Solvability of m-product mixed non-linear functional integral equations

open access: yesBeni-Suef University Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences
The purpose of this paper is devoted to establishing the existence of solutions for m-product non-linear functional integral equations with weakly singular and Riemann–Liouville integral terms.
