Mean Value Integral Inequalities [PDF]

open access: yesReal Analysis Exchange, 2012
Let $F:[a,b]\longrightarrow \R$ have zero derivative in a dense subset of $[a,b]$. What else we need to conclude that $F$ is constant in $[a,b]$? We prove a result in this direction using some new Mean Value Theorems for integrals which are the real core of this paper. These Mean Value Theorems are proven easily and concisely using Lebesgue integration,

US employment exposure to domestic and foreign tariff changes under NAFTA

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
Abstract Literature examining the effects of changes in trade agreements and import competition on US employment and wages has focused primarily on non‐agricultural industries and changes in US import tariffs. We propose a method for measuring worker exposure to changes in agricultural tariffs using a newly developed county‐level dataset of employment ...

Willingness of women‐led businesses in Pakistan to join formal e‐commerce platforms

open access: yesAsia &the Pacific Policy Studies, Volume 9, Issue 3, Page 246-267, September 2022., 2022
Abstract An equitable distribution of economic benefits from the recent growth of e‐commerce in Pakistan requires inclusive adoption of formal digital marketplaces. The available literature and focused discussions reveal that most women‐led businesses rely on informal e‐commerce managed through social media applications and have incomplete and often ...

Generalized integral Jensen inequality

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications
In this paper we introduce necessary and sufficient conditions for a real-valued function to be preinvex. Some properties of preinvex functions and new versions of Jensen’s integral type inequality in this setting are given.

Integral inequalities for mappings whose derivatives are s-convex in the second sense and applications to special means for positive real numbers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
In this paper, the authors establish a new type integral inequalities for differentiable s-convex functions in the second sense. By the well-known H\"older inequality and power mean inequality, they obtain some integral inequalities related to the s-convex functions and apply these inequalities to special means for positive real numbers.

Fractional integral inequalities of Hermite-Hadamard type for convex functions with respect to a monotone function [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
In the literature, the left-side of Hermite--Hadamard's inequality is called a midpoint type inequality. In this article, we obtain new integral inequalities of midpoint type for Riemann--Liouville fractional integrals of convex functions with respect to increasing functions.

Mixed integrals and related inequalities

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 2013
In this paper we define an addition operation on the class of quasi-concave functions. While the new operation is similar to the well-known sup-convolution, it has the property that it polarizes the Lebesgue integral. This allows us to define mixed integrals, which are the functional analogs of the classic mixed volumes.

Increasing sedentary time, minimum dietary energy requirements, and food security assessment

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
Abstract We compute corrections for sedentary behavior in physical activity levels (PALs) and incorporate them along with corrections for over estimation of basal metabolic rates (BMRs) into threshold caloric intakes, known as minimum dietary energy requirements (MDERs).

Harnessing the potential of online marketplaces in the Philippines: Insights from the National Information and Communications Technology Household Survey

open access: yesAsia &the Pacific Policy Studies, Volume 9, Issue 3, Page 288-316, September 2022., 2022
Abstract Using the Philippinesʼ first nationally representative survey designed to characterise digital commercial and non‐commercial engagements, including the use of information and communications technology (ICT), the digital economy, and technology‐enabled activities, we investigate the presence of gendered disparities in online marketplaces.

On Grüss type inequality for a hypergeometric fractional integral

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 2011
Aim of the present paper is to investigate a new integral inequality of Grüss type for a hypergeometric fractional integral. Two main results are proved, the first one deals with Grüss type inequality using the hypergeometric fractional integral.
