On Trapezoid Inequality Via a Grüss Type Result and Applications

open access: yes, 1999
In this paper, we point out a Grüss type inequality and apply it for special means (logarithmic mean, identric mean, etc...

Congruences in Zn, finite Abelian groups and the Chinese remainder theorem

open access: yes, 1987
A natural generalization to Zn of the concept of congruence leads to the consideration of finite Abelian groups whose structure is obtained from the Smith normal form theorem for integral matrices.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Trapezoidal Type Rules from an Inequalities Point of View

open access: yes, 1999
The article investigates trapezoid type rules and obtains explicit bounds through the use of a Peano kernel approach and the modern theory of inequalities. Both Riemann-Stieltjes and Riemann integrals are evaluated with a variety of assumptions about the

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

The use of spline and singular functions in an integral equation method for conformal mapping

open access: yes, 1980
We consider the integral equation method of Symm for the conformal mapping of simply-connected domains. For the numerical solution, we examine the use of spline functions of various degrees for the approximation of the source density o. In particular, we

A complete error analysis for the evaluation of a two-dimensional nearly singular boundary element integral

open access: yes, 2015
An important aspect of numerical integration is to have some knowledge of the truncation error for a given number of integration points. In this paper we determine estimates for these errors in the application of Gauss-Legendre quadrature to evaluate ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Three Inequalities Involving Hyperbolically Trigonometric Functions

open access: yes, 2003
In the short note, by using mathematical induction and infinite product representations of the cosine function, hyperbolic sine function and hyperbolic cosine function, three inequalities for the cosine function, hyperbolic sine function and hyperbolic ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
